So far I have been told not to expect anything before Christmas and possibly New Years.

I ordered a Convertible GT in black with all the new electronic gadgets and 3.55 rear gears. I figure I'll have a good time dressing it up and cruising.

Hey Road Dog - Welcome to MustangEvolution and congratulations on the car! She'll be here in no time I promise!

Don't hesitate to drop me a line if you're to have any questions on what's out there for your new Convertible.

Good to have you aboard!

Alex

Welcome to the site, and I agree --- pics of yours when she gets here.

A black GT convertible is going to be a beauty for sure. Convertibles look GREAT in the dark colors:

Guard that was my first choice of Color as I had a 1998 MKVIII in dark green and it was a looker. But with all the black trim and interior I decided to go black and break the interior in RedLine.
In any case there's gonna be pictures.

That would look really nice with the Black 19" Performance Pack wheels for the 5.0s.

Were you able to test drive a GT convertible? I've been very pleased with the converible top. It fits extremely well and is smooth, is quiet for both wind and traffic noise, and goes up and down in under 10 seconds --- and is almost completely silent while doing so.
The one central handle to secure it is really handy as well.
The only gripe is that the little corner tonneau covers that come with it have to be taken off to put up the top --- but I think that you'll find you rarely if ever use those.

Guard,
Yes, I test drove a couple different units. I had to be sure about the 3.55 axle. I also wanted to be sure the wind and noise control was sufficient. The electronic features are really something but the coyote is the real reason I want this car. My last rear drive car was the 98 MKVIII it was the LSC version with the 4.6L. That car was fun despite the weight. The GT should be fun on steroids.

Yeah, with the top down and a second gear full throttle run up to reline ---- in a TUNNEL -- is a joy of which you must partake as soon as you can! I will never tire of the sound of this engine --- even with the stock exhaust. It's just about perfect for me with a convertible.

⁉️⁉️😳that could lead to other destructive behaviour so I think I'll take it easy for a while, besides tunnels are a bit scarce in SW Florida.
LOL.

Also I'll be working hard to get the car looking as good as yours. I have a list of appearance mods to do before I put a lot of miles on.

I go back and forth about my wheels, as they do kind of stick out with the dark color. But I DO know that I am very glad to have a bit more sidewall with the 18" wheels and tires because the roads here are really terrible.
That, and the cowl shake with the convertible top down is noticeable even with the softer tires and non PP suspension.......not sure I'd want it any stiffer.

For appearance the CDC light bar, and suspension kit to lower it a bit. Then I really like the GT350 steering wheel.

I passed on a number of cars with most of the options I want because they all had the 20" wheel package. I'm partial to a little lighter 19" wheels and a solid 5 spoke pattern.

I had a pony car at age 18 and dressed it up a bit. So this will be fun to do again after so many years.
