Mississippi Girl

Hi I'm new to this site and have a 2014 v6 premium, I'm at my wits end with the dealership, my check engine light flashes for about 60 seconds when I accelerate hard but only sometimes not every time and it's done it a week after I bought the car, I've had the car a year now and it's still doing it. The dealer can't diagnose it because the light won't stay on they say, I had spark plugs changed and it's still doing it. Very frustrated, does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? No modification were done to motor as far as I know. The dealer did change coil pack before I bought it.

Contact the Ford Dealer Representative in your area. He might be able to get the Ford Techs in Detroit figure out what's wrong!

Good Luck!

Curious!
Why did the dealer change coil pack(s) before you bought it?
Just wondering if they already knew there was a problem?

They really couldn't tell me much, they said check engine light came on while someone test drive it so they changed coil pack, so they say.

I had an expedition that did the exact same thing, there was a misfire or the timing was off. We replaced the cam chat sensors. Is there any engine ping or rough idle?

From my experience with cars and talking to my brother (certified mechanic) usually a flashing check engine when you hit high speeds has to do with the air flow. He said a lot of Chevys and Fords use this to tell you the engine isn't getting enough air flow for how fast you're accelerating/or going. It usually wont show up on slow driving because the engine needs less air then. I know someone who had a 2006 Ford Focus that used the light this way to and the manual explained it. Try seeing if your car manual addresses what it means when flashing and go from there.
