I live north of Dallas and have just started working on my 96 Mustang (V6)...OK, so I got the car for my husband, but I'm fixing it, so I get to claim it.
The poor thing has been sitting for a year or two and I'm just getting around to repairing the myriad things wrong with it. I spent all day today with my repair manual. I've managed to take off the air filter housing pieces and the intake manifold top, valve covers, ac compressor, EVAP canister purge valve, ignition coil, and a bunch of other tubes and bolts that I don't know what they're called. Needless to say, I was completely covered in grime...but I've been having fun (and yes, I'm labeling everything and putting most of it in plastic baggies with notes about where it's from and what it's supposed to do...and taking lots of pictures.)
Luckily for me, my roommate used to work on cars so he'll be able to help me figure out what parts to replace before putting it all back together. I seem to be pretty good at breaking things, the challenge will be to put it all back together again.
I'm excited to find a forum for mustang owners and look forward to picking your brains
