old fart....new member

hi all....51 years old and still playing with toys. i guess it just never goes away. my name is jim. i live in ohio and i've been screwing with these machines for many many years. i've tried a few times to let it go but then one trip to the race track or a car show and the itch is back. so here i am now with this '95 gt. sweet car and i'm very happy with it. it's a bit of a project but not a basket case. needs a little re-assembly and i'll be cruising. overall very nice, 63k mile car with some nice features. i'll post a pic when i think it's presentable.: in the meantime, back to work..spot:

Re: old fart....new member

thanks....i wouldn't knock anyone. have pride in what ya drive!! i've had just about one of everything from amc to yamahas....lol. i'll admit i haven't had a stang for awhile and i kinda got the bug after my son had a '95 gts. it was just a sweet car. up until then the last stang i had was a '72 mach. never thought much about the later models but i'm likin' this one. got some nice mods, int and ext and i think it'll be fun to play with.

Re: old fart....new member

thanks for the greeting....so far the '95 is mostly cosmetic. bbk headers, roush side exhaust with skirts and flowmasters, 3:73 posi, 20" foose lusso's w/ nitto's., shaker hood. the previous owner was making a roush "clone". i'm staying with the plan other than the nose. it came with a cobra r front end and i know it's not "roush" but it just looks so sweet. it's at the paint shop now. interior is nice black leather, carbon fiber kit, hammer shifter, gauge pod, nice system. i'm currently looking for a roush rear valance for it and that will pretty much complete the exterior. then i'll go under the hood. it's only got 63k on the clock and runs like a raped ape but...faster is better...lol... i've got a saleen rear bumber cover that's brand new from ait racing that i'm not using. you know anyone interested, i'll let it go cheap.

thanks for the update....the hood looks great. i've got a shaker on mine. kinda reminds me of "old school" stangs. was hard to tell in the pic on the bumper. it looked a lot like the cobra r. looks good either way. do you have a saleen rear bumper? i've got a brand new one i won't be using.

i feel your pain. got a smokin' deal on a gas fireplace sunday, on the way there i popped a breakline on my truck. then about 1/2 way through hookin' up that fireplace my fiance tells me the drier's not heating up...:angryfire. i figure all this will either keep us young or kill us quicker....lol. course it helps when both your sons are mechanics. Oh boys!!! it's time for payback......
