Newbie from iraq..

whats up everyone, alot of you all already know me, i've made some other posts and just forgot to post in here first. haha my bad.

anywho, for ya'll that don't know, i am stationed in iraq and fell upon this site and i love it...

big props to venom, spector brent 1234 hottcobra and lowflynn, all have been a huge help on this site. anyone i forgot about though i just can't remember everyone that's helped me.

Now for the goods... I drive a 2003 yellow cobra, pretty much all stock right now, but thats just because i'm not home to install the parts. in my signature i have all the parts i've ordered so far for it... kinda excited to go home but for the time being... doing my time in iraq and thanks to everyone who supports us.

Re: Newbie from iraq..

Hell yeah, i'd be retarded to not stick around haha. this place is like the best place i've found for help on my car.

I guess if anyone wants any help from me, i'm a turbo guy, that's what i do in the states and iraq, i work on all turbo diesel engines for generators so if anyone has any questions about set ups and boost and all of that i'd be glad to help

Thumbs up Re: Newbie from iraq..

One thing i ment to mention, if anyone needs it, for the rest of the year i can't do it, for the fact of i'm in iraq... but I do paint cars and i'll do it for way under what any dealership or paint shop would want to do it for...

If anyone is intrested though let me know either on here or PM me, i'm on here all the time due to being bored at work night in and night out, oh and if you anyone was wondering

i am Dupont Certified to paint cars as well both through BMW and Cadillac

Re: Newbie from iraq..

well if you provide the paint, i'll provide sand paper and everything else and probably looking at ... 300, which for anywhere else that's unheard of unless it's a knock off spot but i have all my certs from Dupont dealing with BMWs and Cadillac's... 5 years experience as well... started at 16 as a apprentice though my vocational school.. joined marine corp at 21 worked with them all that time

Re: Newbie from iraq..

let me get the proxy up and running, it's on myspace on my buddies wife's page, it's not great pictures and he didn't have automotive paint but the paint job i did for him was done with rattle cans in my garage in 2 days if i have the materials it looks even better but i did his for like 100 bucks and he paid after he saw it... i'll get one that i painted though with actual auto paint too

Re: Newbie from iraq..

lol not bad for bomb paint. you can do better with a paint gun right? im thinkin black white or the silver i have.... the only thing really messed up is when it was painted they didnt take the spoiler off so its dull under neath and the clear coat is coming up on every edge there is..so the paint is also in some points. i think my car was wrecked but not reported.. pass door is red under the panels. 4 out of six windows have been replaced. and it hooks right at 80 pretty damn hard lol..

Re: Newbie from iraq..

damn, it's all fixable though, and yes, with a paint gun i'm alot better but he didn't wanna go that in depth with the painting because he just sold it.

now, as for the spoiler and dullness and the clear coat, that'll all be fixed because i'll sand the whole car just enough to make the old clear come off and rough the paint so the new paint will stick.

quite possible you car was wrecked... or else someone ****ed up the door bad and replaced it... i can turn the whole door your color though and that won't be a problem.

the hooking right at 80 i'm no so sure about if it doesn't do it at other speeds... is that on accel or decel and braking from 80.

i've got a picture of a car that i also did with a paint gun, you shall like it

Re: Newbie from iraq..

well, that all depends because if you want a pearl do you want a OEM pearl white like the one that is by GM on some caddy's? and the shade of both the white vary the colors... if i get the paint.. probably i'd say anywhere from 350 - 450 depending on what they are asking for paint
