FS White 96 Cobra Midwest

Selling my 96 white cobra, 97xxx miles, mechanic told me it has a spun rod bearing. I was planning on putting a new engine in it but have started to realize I'm not gonna have enough money to do it.
Runs Fine just makes a squeeling noise, so it could be something more simple to fix.
Asking $7500
My mods:
BBK L/T headers
BBK O/R H-pipe
Flowmaster american thunder cat-back

Spec Stage 3 clutch

all new speakers
Kicker Comp VR sub

tinted windows

Do you have the factory rims to go with it? How loud is this noise? would I be able to drive it home? how's the body/interior?

Re: FS White 96 Cobra Midwest

its loud enough that in traffic when you let off the gas you can hear it. I dunno about drivin it back to new jersey, I would say yes cuz Ive drivem it and it seems to drive fine, but such a long distance I honestly dunno. teh interior I think is great, the exterior has a few dings and there is a spot under the c-pillar? (behind and under the quarter window) that the paint is peeling, other than that is great.

Zim I know I dont want to sell it but just dont have the money for it anymore! itll be a sad day when it leaves, but I will get another some day

Re: FS White 96 Cobra Midwest

I believe it is the bearing that connects the rod to the crank, which allows the rod to move freely in the engine and not bid up, but since its spun it could seize up. If that is wrong anyone please correct me but that is the way I understood it to be.

To fix it I was told you would need to pull the motor, I was given a 1500 estimate and that was to put a new bearing on the one rod.

Re: FS White 96 Cobra Midwest

Rod bearing = the bearing between the piston rod and the crankshaft, if it spins, it'll make noise, possibly affect oil pressure, wear out, and eventually cause too much clearance between the crank and rod.. causing a knock or worst case, shoot the rod outta the side of the block..

not too entirely hard to fix, easiest way to do it is remove the engine and put a 'crank kit' in it, which comes with bearings/etc
