I have an 88 vert LX that I'd consider selling If I KNEW that it was going to a good home, otherwise Ill keep her for years. mods are minor, I am about to change the clutch. I have done a lot of mech maintenance

I'm in Illinois.

5 speed as well.

I'd skip the t-tops, I had an 87 with the factory t-tops and it was a major pain. Just my 2 cents, if I had it to do over again, i'd got for a hardtop car. More rigidity, less body flex in the unibody, and no leaking all the dang time (even after I redid all of the seals and everything).

I'm also in Ohio, east of Columbus... just found this Fox you might be interested in, the price is right... It's a 4cyl but seems like a decent running, drivable project car.

1987 ford mustang fox body
This is a 4 cylinder, 87', 5 speed manual, fox body stang with 114,000 miles. Minor body damage, highly reliable car. Lots of new parts. Front rotors, front and rear brakes, drum cylinders, radiator, water pump, motor mounts. oil changed every 3000 miles since I bought it in late 2011. Lucas oil tretment every other oil change.

Glad to help out another gearhead, no problem buddy!

I hope it works out for you, $1,500 for a car that just RUNS, during tax season... that's a rare find around here!

Damn I had a 92 LX 5.0, 5 speed, leather seats, sunroof, spotless interior and ran like a scalded ape that I had for 7 years that I just sold in the fall for $2500. I'd rather of sold it to you because he ripped off the front bumper on a curb and got it broken into twice in the first week he had it. It was my baby for 7 years but was just wearing out, that's how I ended up with my '06.

That's what it looked like. Full mac exhaust, bolt ons, but had a salvaged title from me being screwed over when I got hit by a drunk driver in HS.

My 1987 t-tops don't leak a drop. You can buy it if you want it, but it would be $4k.

Still got my 88 vert, engine top end rebuilt within 2k miles probably less, clutch (FW, TB, PP and PB) replacement less than 500 miles. Tires less than 1k miles. U-joint less than 500, oil replaced regularly every 1-2k miles, new tranny fluid (ATF) less than 500 miles, Coolant flushed twice less than 1k miles ago, new sensors, I have a MAF conversion kit still in box. 4.10 rear end. Flowmaster Exhaust. Car is in Chicago. Roughly 100k on body and engine. Receipts for all work and purchases.
