wtt or sell 6 bolt aluminum flywheel for 8 bolt

I have a 6 bolt centerforce aluminum flywheel that will work on fox body a 2001-04 mustang and I need an 8 bolt. It's got under 500 miles on it. Please if you need this and have one to trade I need to get an 8 bolt pronto. All the teeth are in perfect shape. Thank you

Right, I was just wondering because he didn't put a price up. I wouldn't use it on my car anyway cause he touched it.

It came off a 91 with a t5... T5 and t45 use the same 10.5 inch clutch... I assumed the flywheel was same too... Nope... I will accept any reasonable offer for a basically new flywheet

An aod is a great drag tranny. Way more consistent times. What stall speed converter are you gonna run

That very well may be a dual friction clutch. See if svtlx will check that out too for a second opinion. He would probably know better than I would as well.

I don't tear em down, because I've never torn one up. I can take them out and put them in for a clutch swap like nobodies business though!

Re: wtt or sell 6 bolt aluminum flywheel for 8 bolt

I thought about picking up a junk T5 and having a go at the internals though. Could probably get one for about $50 or so, and would be one hell of an investment for a learning experience. Hell, some kids spend more than that on a college textbook. That's how I learn though is by doing.

Same thing I did with an old engine. Olds 307 I got for free and tore it apart and put it back together, not to run but for the learning experience.

Re: wtt or sell 6 bolt aluminum flywheel for 8 bolt

yea, im building a motor now. soon as i get sum cam bearings dropped in it its goin back together. i cant wait to bolt my blower to that fresh bottom end....

i think the most challenging stuff i do is head porting....its part artwork in a way. i absolutly love workn on a set of stock heads...

first set i made were nascar type heads....couldnt hardly turn the tires over at a light with an auto tranny, but lay your *** back in the seat at anything over 65...those were a mistake...lol. but they looked real good. prolly woulda worked better on a manual trans.

I don't think I have steady enough hands or the patience required to do porting.

I have every intention of doing just that. Buying a junk mod motor and tearing it down so I can see and learn about every part and how it's done. Google and my haynes manual will be my best friends

it's not that bad... there are articles on porting so that you can tune the heads for wut u want...low end torque, high rpm hp.. then i went to jegs and played with their display heads so i knew what i was needing to do based on what i read.

there's lotsa articles titled "free horsepower" squeezing 40hp dyno proven power out of a set of e7's. definatly takes a bit of time. i think it pissed me off sometimes, cause i was like...y didnt ford make the heads like this to fukn start with?

i considered doin a set of gt40p's but there's not much room for error on them. they make coolant passage maps for ppl that port. it tells you the thickness between coolant paths, the bowls, and the cumbustion chambers...so you dont take out too much. i dont have the skill for those heads..way too thin. so i stick to porting e7's and sum other stuff for me and my friends.

ive yet to do an intake though
