2011 3.7 Axle Back Exhaust

I am looking to buy a axle back for my car. I'm not dead set on a manufacture as long as the price is right.

Super 10s

Nice and loud and deep
But it gets raspy at 4k rpm

Why? I know it is the V6, but a lot of 5.0 guys have done LT, O/R X and GT500s and say they are amazing. No Drone, quiet at lower RPMS but still scream when put through the paces.

I'm not selling, but they're 120 for the pair, and anywhere from 80 to 200 to install

I did my axle backs a week out of major surgery. If I can do that, anyone can install them.

I also took them both off a few weeks back to adjust the hangers and had them off in 10 mins.

Yeah exactly why I did it myself. 80 bucks and I probably would have let someone else do it.

Yeah after having done it, it would be worth 75 bucks.

I think it is so expensive where I live because so few places will do an o/r x. No epa checks though. Just where I live people are uptight snobs lol.

Just take off your mufflers brother. It's worth trying for the price of FREE...... there going to rattle like crazy if you don't secure them though. I put a piece of leather (cut an old belt up) between the pipe and frame then used exhaust wrap to secure it.... you will know what I am talking about as soon as you remove the drives side muffler. I just let the passenger side hang. Mine has been like that for almost 1000 miles, no issues and I have crawled under the car a few times to check on it. total cost? $36 for exhaust wrap at auto zone, $6 for exhaust wrap ties, and one old leather belt.

I just put my o/r H-pipe on. Would this cause problems with backpressure if I just take off the mufflers when there are no cats?

Nah, I have straight through mufflers (roush are straight through) and really it's just about the same as running no mufflers, at least with respect to back pressure, mine still screams up high and pulls hard down low.

About the only way to lose so much back pressure that it would be detrimental to performance would be to either run just headers or no headers at all

Go info. Nice to know. Thanks man. I might just unbolt my mufflers just to see what it sounds like. I'm not really a fan of my exhaust note at the moment. To much of that tin can sound after 2.5-3k rpm. Any thoughts of what I could do to lose that some of that?

Axle backs

pull your mufflers off and then decide. I wont lie, there is a good amount of drone at some RPM's. I drive the freeway every day and dont have trouble working around it. Around town, it sounds great....to me at least.

good luck

Do you have a o/r x or H-pipe?

Nah, I just have the factory X and cats. Cat deletes or high flows are going to make your exhaust louder and probubly give you a few HP. You may also shoot some flames if your useing rpm's to slow down then punch it again. I usually get a small pop from mine but without cats there will be raw fuel that could ignite. An H pipe will give you more of the burble noise and is claimed to make your overal exhaust note deeper.

What?

Factory mid pipe is an H. Generally most cars that shoot flames are turbos. Removing cats doesn't mean there is raw fuel going down the pipes...that can actually damage the cats. I get plenty of burble with my o/r x and roush AB. H pipe will give you a deeper tone though.

You might not get an answer simply because pypes just released the V6 version of their mufflers bro. Unless someone retrofitted them
