So how does this work with your upload tunes? Can the tuner be transferred to another car and/or user? If you don't know, hopefully somebody chimes in as I might be interested if it's just like buying a new tuner in my name...

It will work with another car as long as its unlocked. That meaning he returned his car back to stock before shipping it to you.

But you will have to buy tunes from a company. AM sells tunes for life for $150.

these tunes were carefully made to his car- when made they took down info, his gear ratio, tire size, manual or auto, any/all modifications, tire sizes etc... and if im not mistaken they take down the computer code so i think the tunes for life working for a different car would be difficult

It may carry over but the tunner is locked into his ECU code. It won't work unless you have the same coding.
