differences in 06 07 08 gt

I have been thinking about buying another GT but after seeing the ford racing book i noticed the superchargers makes 500 hp for the 05-07 and 550 for the 08s at the same rpms 5800 and 542 lbs of torque compaired to 470 on the 05-07s. What other differences are they in the delux and premium models? I have found a cpl low milage 06s but it mite be worth a few thousand dollars more for an 08. This is a great site for mustang lovers like us thanks for your help.... mark and robin

I'm not sure why they are rated differently... the motor didn't change in those years

They probably said that for advertising purposes. They want people to buy newer.

Re: differences in 06 07 08 gt

one thing I can tell you is in the 05-07 gts the spark plugs are known to break in half, this causes major issues... so if you buy one of these get the spark plugs changed BEFORE you buy no matter what BS they feed you. The 08+ ones work fine... if you get them broke off its 250 per cylinder~ for ford to fix it even if they change them and do the damage.

Re: differences in 06 07 08 gt

Theres no diffrence in those years, except the spark plug which was pointed out. So buy an 05 and spend the rest of the money on mods! lol

if you push any 05+ over 450rwhp you are on borrowed time, they dont like much more than that~

Re: differences in 06 07 08 gt

well 450 is not THE limit I mean some push 500 but I would think 450 is a safe line with a good tune that you should not cross unless you expect a failure eventually

good point, you can put in cam phaser lockers as some have issues with them breaking and causing issues when you push high HP as they are not designed very well and dont take tons of power to break.

the lockouts/limiters more have to be used because of big lopey cams rather than nessesarily a HP figure (although the 2 can go hand in hand) the new style phaser does not accept the limiter kit from comp. i spoke with a guy at livernois about this and he said they're working on some.(who was really helpful BTW) they've had several revisions on the phasers. it was a PITA to learn this cause i was in the middle of doing cam;s for one of my clients when i figured this out
