Just bought a 2009 Mustang GT Premium 5-Speed Manual

Anything I should know? Tips or advice? I'm very mechanically inclined so I know a lot about how to treat automobiles. But is there anything in particular about the new GT's I should know?

Also, it only has about 100 miles on it and I ran it pretty hard a few times today. I guess I should lay off of it for a few hundred miles. I just couldn't help it, it's really fun.

Should I go full synthetic on the oil? Or will semi-synthetic do the trick? Also, what website has the best quality and prices on aftermarket parts for Mustang's? I want a billet grille. I have to add my own personal touch to the car.

i would start right, use fully synth motor oil and all that.

change the fluids regularly and such and keep it clean inside/out/and engine bay~ thats should take care of it

Re: Just bought a 2009 Mustang GT Premium 5-Speed Manual

On my 05 GT, I use Mobil 1 5-20 in the motor and Royal Purple in the Rearend and Transmission...

I typically get most of my parts from either Atomic Performance or American Muscle. American Muscle is a sponsor on the site & has great prices & discounts...Atomic Performance was previously a site sponsor, but I don't believe they are anymore...

Number one, I honestly do not care for the new body style. Number two, it's a new design and it will have defects. Also, they will be marked up due to them being a new design. There are not any incentives being offered on them either.

On the 2009, I got almost $2000.00 off the sticker price and I got a $1000.00rebate on top of that. I also got a 1.9% APR for 72 months. It was a much better deal. The Mustang GT I purchased looks really good. It has a very unique look. I love it.

I'll post picks this weekend.

I really like americanmuscle, I've ordered several things from them and haven't been dissatisfied. I also vote intake/custom tune as your first mod, it'll make driving it sooo much more fun.

Nice car by the way, I really like the silver stripes.

If it makes you feel any better Jason my wife just missed the 1-2 shift in my new Bullitt this afternoon about 1 hour after picking it up off the dealers lot.
Did I cringe inside while listening to my engine go places it probably shouldn't? yeap, but I knew to keep my mouth shut after 20 years of marriage : )

Re: Just bought a 2009 Mustang GT Premium 5-Speed Manual

Congratulations, man. I just purchased my `08 about 5 weeks ago. I was able to leverage 7250.00 off an "X" Plan-believe me-that ate up ALL of the inequity-in my lease car-and gave me some $ in the black + 4.30% to 66 months, with 2500.00 down. Like you I wanted the 5th Gen `stang. It has sold more Mustangs-than any other body style in the car's history-with the saavy of the `68 fastback, and all the modern suspension/accoutrements. I also have the spoiler delete on my car. I will post pics after I get my tires/wheels!!

Re: Just bought a 2009 Mustang GT Premium 5-Speed Manual

I just purchased my first custom mod. I bought a upper and lower billet grille w/pony cutout. Got it for $95.00 on eBay. I almost bought one from American Muscle or SS Inserts, but then decided to see if I could find one for a better price. Glad I did, saved me about $60.00.

Now I'm looking for a hood pin appearance set-up. I am also going to buy a pair of muffler plates from SS Inserts for about $45.00. After that I'm going for a painted chin spoiler. I figure I'll have all of this purchased and installed by the end of June.

After that I'm getting a cold air induction system with new exhaust. That'll come by August.

JBA shorty 409 stainless headers ,

no mufflers yet it sounds and runs like a beast all engine ROAR!... but way to much power for the clutch already thats next to go. prolly get a stage 2 just to leave some wiggle room. those are the first set of mods i would get.

Ist Mustang

I have wanted a Mustang since I sat in a 1984 SVO back in 1983. I just Picked up a 2009 GT Premium 5 speed for $26K @ 1.9%. What a steal. I have already put 800 miles on it in 2 weeks. I like the original black grill much better in the first picture. I added Steeda pedals and dead pedal. Sequential blinkers next.
