BMR sway bar delete

Well I finally installed it. very nice piece. Fitment is great. Was worried about the way it would drive without the sway bar, but the car drives just like it did with the sway bar. Granted I'm not trying to road course the car. I guess being that the car is lowered helps.

for those that don't know about it. This is it.

Re: BMR sway bar delete

yes it's the front sway bar that's removed. on the S197 cars the sway bar mounts to the rad. support. So the rad. support has to be a very strong and heavy crossmember to handle the stress. Removing the sway bar and end links, and replacing the huge support with the tube style you take 35lbs. off the front end of the car.

Plus in drag racing removing the front sway bar helps with weight transfier when launching. Lowering your 60ft. times.

You don't need them because ours don't have the same mounting system. You can just remove your front swaybar if you so choose.

Shouldn't it have been that way from the factory? I mean really? They wasted time making 100,000 of those radiator support/sway bars when it could have easily been done like that????????

in reality the sway bar is there to help induce understeer from the factory, put there for saftey issues. in a panic situation you wouldnt want your front end dipping and diving in different directions.

Man. After I posted a new thread-regarding front end improvement(s)-and few responded-WOW: That is some bada$$ engineering. I would still like to hear from folks that have installed Griggs racing front end parts... hottcobra-the BMR replacement part looks really cool/functional. Did you have to have the caster/camber plates-maybe you have those already-since you indicated that your car is lowered as well What was the cost?

no I don't have the CC plates I just have the camber bolts that BMR make.

Yes I'm still running the car in the 1/4 mile, but I'm not spraying it anymore. Just shooting for N/A power.

Haven't been to the track since the install.
I need a new set of spark plugs and a new tune.

I have put a good 500 miles on the car with this mod and don't feel any lose of normal handling.
