driveshaft, carbon fiber is awesome

like high tk, no vibrations, light weight, added power, durrable parts.
here is something to look at.
was reading about this company and some guys that used their parts, seeems a pretty easy thing to do, especial mustangs beind rwd.

the whole premise is the the less weight you have on the rotational mass the more power you can make. plus it is something relatively easy to put on.

check out these links. just some info.

the first link is the company. pretty interesting.
the last on is more of a dyno and rive test.

Re: driveshaft, carbon fiber is awesome

OkayThanks for all of the fine information and research-very informative stuff Too bad we don't have the fabulously exuberant GT owner-that installed one in his/her `stang. I have considered this-as a "next possible" modification, too. I hope we have a member that has done this mod'-and can give the same rave review(s) like the Impreza doods

Yea, reducing rotating mass is going to make for a lighter/faster revving engine. Just like adding an aluminum flywheel. Aluminum is great and Carbon fiber is better when you consider weight savings.

plus it reduces wears on parts due to deflection. which i thought was kinda cool. along with the vibration absorbtion.

was kinda confused about the site, do you have to call to have somethin made? or do they make parts on a regular basis?

Re: driveshaft, carbon fiber is awesome

its over priced for what you get vs aluminum~ no real need to go that far plus over time CF can start to separate.

They do help, not a huge amount (unless you are making a ton of power) but they do help. Rotating mass is about equal to 1lb of rotating mass per 10lbs of dead weight.

Re: driveshaft, carbon fiber is awesome

Hmmm-since aluminum produces a favorable result-at a lower cost-and doesn't:disintegrate `Seems like al-you-minimum might be the way to hang. Anyone have the experience with the metal driveshaft to jump in here? +/- What are they:

Re: driveshaft, carbon fiber is awesome

cf splinters but only after it breaks n a crash, which is a good thing cause it doesnt have a chance to come throught the floorboards. it takes alot to break cf. i think you would break gears bfore you would shred the driveshaft.

aluminum is good but transmits vibration, and causes deflection, which causes wear.
eeh the cf looks cooler anyways, eventhough it hangs out on the bottom of your car and you dont get to see it.

`And now-that may make the case for the carbon fiber-again. I read all of the article(s)-I'm impressed-I may have to call the manufacturer-and see what they would charge-I'm thinking at least 1000.00
