Re: 05-09 Trunk Release Button

: There was a great post here- a few weeks ago-another member came up with the "OE" solution-fairly easy to mount switch/ + wire-in the similar location as the SN95 button.

Why?!? lol

While I think it's stupid to not have a trunk button in the car, is it really THAT big a deal that we need aftermarket parts dedicated to it? The old-fashioned "using a key" method works just fine for me...

Re: 05-09 Trunk Release Button

with a coupe its not the end of the world but with a vert there is NO access to the trunk from inside the car and if your keys are locked guess what... your screwed

Well, you could always remove the rear seat...assuming it comes out similar to the 03 seat.

Re: 05-09 Trunk Release Button

I put a trunk release switch in my car a couple of days ago. It is a new switch for a SN95 Mustang, which cost about $9, a couple of feet of wire and a few connectors for a grand total of about $11-$12.

It's mounted on the inside panel of the glove box. You could also mount it above the hood release on the drivers kick panel.

That looks like a really nice, clean install. How long did that take you to do?

It took about 30 minutes to do mine, then a week later I did one for a friend and it only took 15 minutes because he removed and replaced the interior panels while I was doing other things.

Very straight forward easy to do modification. I still can't understand why FORD omitted this on the S197s.

I like the glove box mount for my vert since I can lock that up. I often leave the top down in public and anything of value goes in the trunk.

I want one in the dash power outlet.
Anyone have one of push-button starts?

Starkey makes one too. It took 20 minutes and a leatherman. Totally looks OEM if there was an OEM part. Lol

You can be 2nd or 3rd... heck even 4th or 5th

3 things they should have had from the factory:
•Interior trunk release button!
•Sequential taillights!!
•Independent rear suspension!!!

Nope.
Thanks tho!!!
Even if i just use the spare key, & unlock the trunk manually,
the doors lock when the trunks pops open.
