I'm new and need your advice on purcahsing a mustang

Here is the short story.
I'm a fan of mustang, it's my dream car. I live outside U.S. and we only have 1 car importer that have only used mustangs for sale, they don't sell new because it will cost same as a porshe car here in my country.
They told me that they'll get a used 2005-2009 v6 (2007) but will be in excellent condition, they sold many similar in the past and I can witness that even if it's used, it looks brand new (they go to U.S. to see the car and change if necessary parts so it's like new). The price is crazy : US$40 000 compare to U.S (you can buy a new GT) but we have no choices here as far as shipping and tax is very very high here, also importing myself will save some money (not much) but I don't want to do it because no one will take care of my mustang in case of problem or maintenance schedules...
I did go to get a loan but banks don't want as my earnings are too low.

I earn like $2000/month and have save $40 000 it's all my money I've got saving from years and I want to buy that mustang V6.

Since years and month I look everyday at internet, stop by the used car store.... to see the mustang, I'm a real fan, I think of investment in it, like I won't sell it till end of my days.

My question is should I buy or not?

Do you think that a dream is really important to make it real or not?
I have a family (wife and child) and they are a bit skeptical as economy is not as good as before and putting money in savings is better according to them.
Any suggestions.

if i were you, i would save the money, and get another car. but if youre a true fan, you can always build it yourself, or do a kit car. the kit car wont be the exact same, but itll have the same components as the original. and if you were to build it yourself, then you can say that you built your dream car.

a kit car is alot more cheaper than a 40000$. you can build a kit car of a lambo for about 25000. what country are you in?

Remember family is the most important thing.Make sure they are taken care of first....then when the time is right make the dream come true.

Dreaming of getting a car is great, it took me 40 years to finally pull the trigger and get mine.
That being said make sure for that kind of money you get what you want and do not settle. The right deal will come along.
Good Luck.

If you dont mind the different body style, you could try for a 99-04. It would be cheaper. But like DDTCM said, family is the most important thing. You never know when something bad might happen and you will need a savings fund to dip into. this being said, the smartest thing to do would be to keep saving. this way when you finally buy your dream pony it doesnt totally rape your savings account.

never buy a mustang as an investment as you will just lose money 99.999% of the time. They simply depreciate. Maybe where you are from they hold their value more. I would personally wait on a used 2011 v6 as they will have a 3.7L 305hp v6 instead of the only 210 hp 4.0L they currently use... also they will have 6 speed manual transmission.
