Jlt cai and xcal 3

I was looking at getting the jlt cai and xcal3 combo from bamachips.com, but their web site has been out for a while. I am tired of waiting, and I was wondering if anyone had ordered from BlowByRacing.com. They have the combo for 20 or 40 less then brenspeed.com.

I would really like it from bama, but since their site is overloaded with orders, will Blow By Racing work?

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

Ya probably. But I would go to americanmuscle.com and get their cheap 80 dollar or so intake and they have the xcal 3 all cold air intakes are the same.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

I had considered that, just wasn't sure about the reliability of the no name air intakes. Also I was hoping to get an xcal with the tuned files preset.

doug @ bamachips writes really good tunes for 05+ so I would go with him vs anyone else. Their website works fine for me, whats wrong with it?

All CAI are not the same, just do a little research. Also a tune from Bama,Breenspeed ect are gonna be better than a american muscle tune.It might cost you $30 dollars more but its worth it IMO.Dont you want the best for your baby?

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

Yes I do want the best for my baby. lol but the problem with bama for me right now isnt the money. My computer is showing bama chips website only selling the tune files because of high request for items, so thats all they said their doing. So I can not buy the cai and the tune from them.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

I see what you are talking about now.He is just doing orders as they came in so it will take some time if he is backed up.I would call and see what kind of wait time you are looking at because Dougs tunes really are worth it.You can always buy from somewhere else then order a tune from Doug but again I say its worth the wait. What year is she and what other mods do you have?

I'll check out the link now. Shes a 08 Gt thats stock except for axel back exhaust from pypes. Im only 16 and it was affordable for the aggressive sound. But now I have a propper job, not just selling stuff on ebay, so now I have money to spend!

Yeah I'll be sure to man. Have you checked out anything from procharger? If I save up for a super charger or Turbo I'm going to go with their turbo.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

Going back on what I said a few posts back, would it be worth my time to play around with a bbk cai or K&N (no tune needed)? I can go buy one about 45 mins away from my house for 100 bucks (K&N, and 150 BBK). Would it be worth doing and using it for a month or two, or at least untill bama is back on schedule? Im sure ill be able to resell it for that much online.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

I picked the C&L racer and a sctx3 from bama with 93 octane performance, torque and race tunes. The race tune is awesome! Now I did do kooks Lts and catted H at the same time as the cai and tuner and its a awesome combo! It was seriously like driving a different car.It sounded amazing, pulled harder and throttle response was great with the 93 race tune. I have a friend that was using the 91 octane torque tune for 2 years and never tried his 91 race tune, when he did........he was shocked because it so touchy on the throttle. He love it and posted a thread saying how much more he liked it. His tune was from bana also.

Don't waste your time, just wait for Bama or go with Breenspeed ect. Just make sure you do research before you pick your tuner and it never hurts to ask other people on the forums.

I don't have dyno sheets on this computer, but here are some comparisions.
Stock, except for Steeda UDP 275RWHP/282RWTQ.
Bama 91 race and 91 tq tune and JLT 297RWHP/308RWTQ (both tunes dyno nearly identical numbers)

These numbers are SAE Corrected. They were taken at the same dyno but on different days. This shouldn't have altered the numbers that much since it's SAE corrected and the temp on both days were close.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

In the quarter my car picked up 6 tenths with just a JLT intake and 93 Bama race tune, his tunes are AMAZING for a mail order tune. Just like lots of others have said, wait for Doug to get caught up. I would also def give him a call to see what kind of wait time you're looking at.

According to who you talk too, the JLT/tune makes most power, but C&L is real close. it really come down to the tuners personal preference and yours

I don't think bama is selling intakes anymore. I believe they are only doing tunes.

Re: Jlt cai and xcal 3

Well I spoke to a guy who lives in the neighboring county, and purchased his K&N for 75 dollars about 2 weeks ago. I told him I was planning to buy a jlt from bama and he said theres a legendary Fl. tunner about an hour from where I live. I think He said his name was dennis Miller (i'll call the guy to check again). But he used to work for sct, and has incredible dyno sheets. So I'll go check him out sometime.
