if you end up trading it in i'd look at kelley blue book and just try to get it as close to that as you can

Why do you have to sell it because of a baby? My 2000 gt was perfectly fine as a family car.

Re: GOTTA sell the stang

kelly blue book is great if your buyin a car. selling however its not as good. you never seem to get what it says its worth. expecially with a dealership. they make excuses about it say that they set their prices high. the cars not really worth that. unless they are selling it of caurse. so you got to watch. but chances are you could prolly get close to $20k for it. if you find the right buyer

Re: GOTTA sell the stang

Yah mustangs are surprisingly strong and do well in frontal impacts. Side impacts, probably not so well, but there aren't many vehicles that do amazing with side impacts.

Not trying to deter you from getting a larger vehicle to keep your family safe, nothing more important than that...just don't want you to regret losing the stang shortly after.

You could always sell the 07, and use 75% of the money on the family vehicle and the other 25% on an older v8 mustang, just to keep the sound/feel.

Re: GOTTA sell the stang

meh, sometimes it doesn't matter how much your car is worth. the value is determined by the price the buyer is willing to pay. i would just go with your gut instinct on what the car is worth (kelly blue book, highest condition perhaps?) and then lower as time progresses, or as you negotiate offers. unless of course, you are looking to get rid of it real fast. then, you might want to price a bit lower.

Re: GOTTA sell the stang

I'd estimate anywhere between 14998-16050 high. W/O seeing it's hard to tell but on the used market they are going $17mid to $20 high at retail. I'd imagine you could get KBB especially if you are buying a car from the dealer. Outright sale, I'd ask $20,881 you can always negotiate with buyers. They will try and negotiate with you. If you have a CarMax near by they will appraise it free.

what ever KBB value is~ basically and if you find someone that WANTS the mods you can get a little more perhaps but mods dont equal anything at for sale time... generally they hurt value.

+1, to what SpectorV sez. Adding alot of upgrades to my car really doesn't help it's value-except to the "just right" buyer -that sees that he/she "didn't have to spend the $"-to do those upgrades-and at that point, only nominal value at best.
I say keep your investment-as a nice Family car-and congrats on "being pregnant" !!

The 99-04s, at least, rated great in side impacts, and definitely saved my life when someone blew a stopsign

If you sell the stang, and go for something a bit more modest than a Tahoe or Yukon.. You could probably pick up a 5.0 project car and have a blast.. with money to spare

Good to know...I've seen quite a few frontal impact crashes at the local body shop and the 99-04 cars did quite well...didn't see any side impact crashes though.

It's good to hear that the car does its job when hit in the side...that's always been in the back of my mind when driving.

I was the passenger

Window was down to begin with, but the A pillar didn't cushion the blow much

Man my 99 Cobra is great with my son, he is 3 now and he loves it. He calls it the hotwheels. Is it the only vehicle you and your significant other have, if not i would keep it. Car seats fit perfectly fine in mustangs.

we were moving, too, so it was a 60 MPH hit, but my car turned/skidded so it wasn't as hard as it could have been - still the other car was booking it..

As for the question if I'm ok...

I survived! I woke up in the hospital 3 days after the fact with no recollection of the accident, about 2 weeks prior.. had no short term memory for about 2 months and until a year or so ago I was still coming across CDs and movies that I'd forgotten entirely that I'd owned (I had a huge CD collection stolen from the wreckage while I was in the hospital)

**** man...had something similar when I got in an accident back in 08. We were in a '99 Yukon towing a 18ft boat and were broadsided by a bus sized RV going about 55-60 mph. Got hit so hard it threw the boat clean off the trailer down the ditch another 20 feet. I was in the front passenger seat and had some internal injuries that put me in a 4 hour surgery, then another 3 weeks in the hospital.

I had that to where I had memory loss and trying to remember ****...wierd feeling.

Re: GOTTA sell the stang

Back on topic........

The back seat of a 07 IS NOT car seat friendly until they are old enough to be seated foward and upright and even then its a uncomfortable ride fo yo baby mamma in the passenger seat.If she has her own car I would suggest keepin the stang. It can be done if you really want to keep her.
Good luck
