63 RWHP Gain With Simple Cam Swap!!

Check out the dyno results on AFM's F-53 forced induction camshafts for the 4.6 3V. 63 RWHP with nothing more than swapping installing AFM's F-53 camshafts. Get this, it drives like stock!!!!!

Re: 63 RWHP Gain With Simple Cam Swap!!

i'm 20 and got a 02 gt and pay 100 a month somehow it is cheaper than my v6 was at the age of 18. I guess two years is alot to the insurance companies.

Re: 63 RWHP Gain With Simple Cam Swap!!

You'll see big hp gains with cams if your running a SC or Turbo. You could probably gain around 35hp NA.

Re: 63 RWHP Gain With Simple Cam Swap!!

This depends entirely on the engine type, the 4.0 already has a fairly aggressive cam so theres less room for improvement, plus it has less valves to open. There are a few v6 motors out there that gain 55 plus HP from cam swaps (nissan's 3.5 liter in the altima for example), has nothing to do with v6 buyers being more interested in mpg vs HP

Yeah-look at the list of equipment: 05 Mustang 5-speed: Anderson/Paxton Stage II S.C. kit, Vortech 8 rib pulley kit with 10% over Innonators West damper & 2.50 S.C, pulley, DSS short block, Anderson Stage III heads & Hi-Rev valve springs, cams locked in, stock Intake & Throttle body, Kooks mid-length Headers with X-Pipe, Bassani after-axle exhaust,Ford Racing fuel pump...... I sure don't have al of this stuff-no "63 horsepower gain" for me.

I think I'm around $175 for full coverage on a 2002 GT and 2004 F-150... and 25 years old.
