well most do hand helds that do not have to be mounted anywhere, you just program them then put the tuner up somewhere for when ever you need it again. If you have the need for a more sophisticated tuner you probably have ton of crazy mods that require on demand tuning vs tuning getting it right (via dyno) and being done with it.

Re: What is the best place to mount a Tuner

Oh I see. So you just put in the tune you will be using and unplug the unit till you need to, lets say, go to the track. Then re-plug and put in a race tune for that?
Never had one and I just won a bid on a JLT CAI so now I'm trying to figure out everything I need to know about tuners.
Thanks as always

yea thats how you do it, you just use the tuner only when you wish to change the tune, data log, or scane for CEL type codes~

go to americanmuscle.com and they have tunes from bamachips which are some of the best out there for 05+

Re: What is the best place to mount a Tuner

Thanks folks.
I am sorry to be such a dummy about all this new stuff. My last tuner on my ROUSH NASCAR truck was in the box in the center console as I had the "on the fly" choice of city' highway' towing, race.

yea, no problem ask away, thats what we are here for. When you do pull the trigger the best place out there it seems is american muscle and a tune from bamachips. I would probably do the 93 race tune, an 87 tune, and something else you like.

Also, tuners dont really help gas mileage, thats kind of a myth.

Re: What is the best place to mount a Tuner

The only thing my tuner does is make my right foot heavier which seems to have something to do with why my gas doesn't last very long. On another note get the 93 race tune for sure........its awesome!

Re: What is the best place to mount a Tuner

I would get a dyno with a good shop that has a quality a/f setup and make sure the tune isnt lean as some bamachip tunes tend to be
