Lynn Marie

Just a little area to show off whats new with her.

Well I finally decided to get the car pullied and tuned. I have an appt. for Wed. at Stang-Hi to get a 2.6 pulley and tune for the car. Little more expensive than I thought it would be, but she is worth it.

I am only expecting about 50-60 more hp because I already have the Ford Racing tune and CAI on her now. That should put me in the mid 500's. I want her to have at least the 500hp advertised, I figure she should be around 480-490 now, but we will see. It is still a daily driver so I don't want to go too crazy.

Going to get a before and after Dyno just to see what happens. Since I am keeping my Ford CAI I feel more comfortable in getting it Dyno tuned instead of just taking the caned tune they have with another CAI.

more to come.....

Re: Lynn Marie

so when you talk about pullies. you mean just under pulleis the crank, alternater, idler right. it can make that much of a difference. I have been looking at a steeda pulley set up and have been very optimistic. I would like to replace the pullies and get my SCT tuner. then hold off on the mods till next year.......

Actually it is the pulley for the supercharger. They come with a 3 inch and I am putting on a 2.6 inch. Increase about 4 lbs of boost. I was told the under drive pully in the 08s are already done from Ford.

Re: Lynn Marie

Got the numbers for the car with I pick her up yesterday.

Before: Ford Racing CAI and Roush Catbacks.

485hp and 484 tq

After 2.6 pulley and tune

536hp and 548 trq with 4 more lbs of boost.

Not quite the 550 I was hoping for but still more than I can handle.

P.S. Louis, gave you the wrong number.

Re: Lynn Marie

As some of you have probably read in my other post, I had the clutch TSB done by the local Ford dealership a couple of months ago. The clutch is holding up fine just a different feel.

I noticed a couple weeks ago while at the Mustang show held at the same dealership my exhaust pipe had a black spot on it. After further inspection I saw that the plastic around the indention for the pipes had been melted a little. Appears the car was run without the pipes being aligned properly after the clutch work.

The next week I took it in and showed it to the service manager. He agreed with my assessment and said he could replace the piece around the exhaust. I was under the impression it was all one piece with the bumper, but what do I know.

Got a call today from the body shop manager at the dealership to confirm painting, striping and replacing my bumper. I ask him about what the service manager said and he told me it was indeed all one piece. He will call me back next week on when to bring it in after they had painted it. They would then send it out to get re-striped, should only take a couple days.

Lynn is getting to know the strip shop very well. The only stripes that have not been done so far are over the windshield.

You have one beautiful ride also.

I got the caps from JLT, it is my second set. They no longer have them because of the problems with the fit. The caps rest on the strut bolt and crack the center of the cap in a short time. They are for the GT's and JLT modified them for the 500's. There needs to be a better design for them but probably not enough market for it.

BTW, how did not darken your head lights. I have thought about this, just not sure if I want to do it because of the laws( also getting old and need all the light I can get).
Right now I have Headlight Armor clear on them for protection. Would not work for color because it does not quite cover all the way to the edge of the light.

Re: Lynn Marie

I knew at one time you could get the shock tower caps in all one color, but like you said, hard to find now.

My headlight covers are simple - they are the static cling material like you see in a fast food restaurant window. They hold really great, and peel off and go right back on as often as you want - so they are not permanent at all.

I went to an auto parts store and got the limouisine static cling 95% tint, and simply cut out to match the light.

Re: Lynn Marie

Dropped the car off yesterday to get the back bumper replaced, they never called as usual. I had to call them to find out if it had been painted and was ready to go on.
I did ask them if I could have the old bumper and they said yes. Hopefully they want damage it taking it off. Don't know yet what I am going to do with it but the damage to it was not really noticeable, maybe some day I will need it.

Well I was going to cut back on spending money on her for a while.
Today I got a notice of a Tire sell at Shelby and I just could not pass it up. I have about 25k on my tires now and figure I can probably get 40k out of them. Don't dog the tires and they still have good tread on them.
Shelby is selling the 18" Goodyear Supercar F1 KR tire for $400 a SET, normally $1000 at Shelby. Tirerack.com has the rear tire for $410 alone.

I bought a set to put up until I need them. Info on the deal is on the Blog page.

Let me know if you have problems getting an inspection sticker. I can help out in that field around here.

Re: Lynn Marie

Past time for an update.

Been so busy here since my trip to San Antonio. Missing a week of work at this time was not helpful. As my Foursquare locations can attest, I did have a nice time on my trip.

While driving through Houston Sat. afternoon I could not help but run over a bunch of debris on the interstate. Looked like pieces of those political signs that are stuck up everywhere. Did not have time to stop or go around due to the speed and traffic.

Once I stopped for the night at my brother-in-laws, I checked out the car and was glad not to find any thing of concern. The next morning I noticed my right rear tire was flat. I put air in it and checked it every so often on the way to San Antonio, I did have a slow leak a while back on this tire, wasn't sure it this was a new leak or not.

Parked the car in the hotel garage on Sunday afternoon, so Tuesday I decided to check the tires to make sure it would be okay for the trip back Thursday. Just as I had feared the right rear tire was flat again.

I have AAA but since Ford Roadside assistance was available while under warranty I thought I would try it out. I called the number and told them my problem. I was at a conference so I set up a time for the Tow truck at 3 pm the next day.

The tow truck showed up on time but Ford Assistance did not give him a good explanation of my situation. The car was in a garage with a low ceiling and I was hoping he would have brought a small air canister so I could fill the tire and drive it down so the truck could get it.

Ford had gotten most of the info wrong, even the clearance of the garage, but the guy that was in the tow truck was AWESOME. He was from Access Towing and did everything to make sure the car was handled properly. He was also a Ford guy, had some Falcons, Mustangs, and now has a Marauder. Took about an hour go get the truck in the garage hook up and the maneuver down the 5 story garage. I can not say enough about how good of a job he did.

Ford sent us to Northside Ford just off the Interstate. It was an old Target store from what I understand that they converted to a dealership. I was very impressed.

We arrived about 4pm and my tire was fixed in just a few min. and they never charged me a dime. I was told the tread in the middle part of my rear tires were low and I needed new ones.

I guess it was a good thing I got that deal on a new set of tires a couple months ago, I will put them on before my next trip.

All I can say is I worried the whole day about he problems with the car being 800 miles from home, but that was the best experience I have ever had with car trouble in another city.

Access towing and Northside Ford did a great job for me, hope they work our well for others.
