(wanted) 05+ track times

I'm trying to find out what kind of times people are getting out of the 05+ gt without a blower or turbo just because I like many other people can't afford to spend 4 to 5k but I ant scared to spray the hell out of it are you?

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

What kind of 1/8th mile times did you get? Even though 1/8th mile times are for riceburners.

*edit* Was your "wife's car" not ever stock before you got it?

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

Not too shabby. Ran an 8.33 with a 2.05 60' here spinning first and second. Good prep owns our local dragstrip(more like old road). It hooks better on the street than it does there. The car definately has 1.80's in it. Can't wait to put the kit on this summer and run some mid to low 7's.

I hope to be able to hit 12s this summer at some point...and then let someone that can launch the damn car run and see what they get.

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

You got an NA tune then sprayed on top of it? Could you not get a tune for both???

Other question... What have you done to the drivetrain? Like what clutch are you running, have you swapped for better axles or anything? The times you are running, if you're still running stock stuff, you're on borrowed time, especially if the car ever hooks. You probably already know that, just thought I'd ask.

Other than that. BADASS. Great times.

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

Nice, actually HELLA nice for being able to get those tires to "hook" as much as they did. Definately can tell you are going through an auto, there is no way a manual could get half the 60' your running with stock suspension.

I'm running MT ET Street DR's and loving them, just if you use the car for a daily driver, they tend to wear out pretty quickly. I'm hoping to make it until september, we bought them in December. I love them though.

You can...they will just bulge a little like the 315's do on a 9" rim...just a little extra rim protection.

My biggest fear is how long will the motor live with the 150 shot

/\ No joke.

I'm running a 275 on an 8 inch wheel, but it's a 15 inch rim.

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

the first pass I made I thought I blew the intake between the 1/8 ml & 1000 foot it popped and killed the motor. I coasted to the end and found it popped though the intake but only blew the air intake off the throttle body. and I still ran a 12.48 at 100mph

Nitrous backfire = Bad.... Aren't the 05 up mustang intakes composite??? If so, I'd be very careful with that, you could shatter your intake.

Wonder what caused it to backfire? Were you hitting the revlimitter or something?

I just thought about something else also, are you backing your timing down for the nitrous??? 2 degrees for every 50 shot is a rule of thumb. I would thing since you are running an NA tune he may have changed your timing to run more aggressively, and if so, that could be very dangerous while spraying.

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

ya it is a composite intake thats why i thought i shattered it but it held. i don't know why it backfired I was in 4th gear at about 4500rpms the only thing I can think of is that is was so hot yesterday that for the first pass i had over 1200psi in the bottle I dont know if that had anything to do with it or not. and nitrous tune I have is set for the 150 shot for my car that is a completly seprete tune from my daily driver tune

Re: (wanted) 05+ track times

the last time i went was about a month ago...

I ran the following:

60ft=2.15
1/8th ml=9.1
1/8thml MPH=N/A
1/4 ml=14.1
1/4 ml MPH=99.5

which those times aren't particularly good, as i am not much of a drag racer, but i did realize later that my launch was actually pretty good for a stock car and stock tires...my problem was that i was short shifting the car at like 5900 rpm instead of at 6500+ which would have cut several tenths off my time...oops...
