05 GT - DCT Code P0506...

Hello,

2005 Mustang GT - A couple weeks ago my check engine light came on, and my SCT XCalibrator 2 got: P0506 - Idle Control System RPM Lower Than Expected. I cleared the error, and so far it hasn't come back. Any tips on this? Current mods are JLT ll intake with custom tune from Evolution Performance, H&R supersport springs, and SLP axle-back exhaust. I've had these on for at over a year with out issues, and the car is running fine from what I can tell. Thanks in advance...

John

Does your car idle to low or have any sort of shake to it while sitting still at red lights and what not?

Not really... It does seem to idle a little low in general, but the guy that did the tune for me says it's normal. Anyway, the light hasn't come back still, nothing i should worry about? Thanks.

The ECU's in the 197's are incredibly sensitive. If they get the slightest hint that something is off the factory setting, they will throw a fit (thanks a lot ford! ) to be honest, I don't think the code you are getting is anything serious, the factory idle rpm is between 700 and 800 rpm, i dont recall exactly, but it is pretty low, so if your idle rpm is significantly lower than that for some reason, you would more than likely stall, so if you're not having any vibration or sputtering problems when you're at rest, i wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just the ecu being incredibly touchy...

I have the same set up and the same thing has happened to me . It goes away with no more issues once you clear it. It is the PCM which is sensitive enough to pick up a fart in the cabin.lol
