A 2010? Pretty sure a inexperienced driver could push the go pedal and wipe the floor with you and me..I would call that luck or he was just playing with you.You dont need experience with 430hp and a weight at aroud 3200lbs.

A 100hp drop? I'm confused. Is your driveshaft made of lead or something? Short of jamming rocks in the differential I don't think I could cause a 100hp drop. I think I would go to another dyno.

And I would go with 3.9 if you plan on lots of street time. Even more so if traffic is bad in your home town. Its a cheap switch if you want to upgrade later.

Dyno jet has no lies. It has more of a power loss because its auto too

I still haven't gotten an answer I'm looking for really. All the responses have been helpful, but what I want to know is if I'm cruising on the highway at about 70 and another car pulls up and tries to race and I drop it down to 4th gear, or 3rd, what gear set up would give me the most power??? Also, what would keep my top speed up... More for bragging rights really... Lol thanks again for all the responses! That's what I love about mustangs... There is a great community for them!

If you are wanting to highway race, 3.73 or maybe even 3.90 would be your best option for taking off at 70+ mph. If you have 4.10, 4.30 etc you would run out of gear in my opinion. But if you taking off from a dead stop then only going a 1/4 mile then you want more gear. If that makes any sense.

Did that dyno jet show you the crank HP too? lMAO! There is no way in hell your car can lose that much power because its a auto.....no wait, there is no way your car has 400hp at the crank.

K 3.73 is minimum if you are gonna pay someone to change em because it's about a 500 dollar touch andbif you go lower there is little to no performance gain. Most of the guys that I spoke with that had mod motors put in 4.10s and not one of em were complainingw about mileage. I went a lil lower just to save a mile per gallon. However I have heard people complain that 3.73s weren't enough for them. Look. If you wanna go fast quick it's 3.90s or 4.10s. 3.73s are a decent cruising gear but I wouldn't pick them. Anyway you go just be sure you get out m drive er. That is all

If you need a set let me know, a friend of mine has a set for sale. If he still has them you could probably get them for $100 plus shipping.

Re: 4.10 Gears

I think you made the right decision,a 3.90 or 4.10 is gonna be great. I went from a 4.10 to a 3.73 and its a major difference.

Nice choice. And if that guy is still selling those gears at 100 bucks buy em up. I think they are about 160.00 don't buy used because they will whine. Your new installer won't put them in exactly the way they were in before. Unless a lil whine don't bother you.

Ok. I will try to call him today and I will get back with you. They are motive and they are like $230 new I think. I think he told me they were new but I will have to ask to find out for sure. FYI I almost always buy my gears used, a good mechanic can install gears with NO whine.

Thanks again! I guess at this point I should get a cai and tuner... Do you know if getting a tune will re-calibrate the speedometer with the new gears? I heard that needs to be done after switching gears.

Re: 4.10 Gears

a tuner can recalibrate for new gears. you can order a tunner and tune from americanmuscle and they use bamachips tunes which are great for 05+ GT mustangs. They also offer free tunes for life as an option I do believe.

Re: 4.10 Gears

The Bama tunes are free for life and those 3.90 with a cai and race tune will be awesome. Make sure to get a 91 or 93 octane rave tune.Once you try the race tune with that gear combo you won't be able to wipe the smile of your face.
