GT500 question...

Hey guys... i am looking to buy a gt500 in the summer but have no idea where to look. i will most likely be paying cash and am not opposed to going to a dealer but would rather buy it from an owner who knows about the car because dealers tend to be on the pricey side and can never find what i am looking for. i already had this issue when i bought my first mustang. does anyone know where i should look to buy an 07-09 GT500?? thanks

tank

Re: GT500 question...

i definitely won't buy it from a private seller without atleast letting me either test drive it or have them give me a ride in it to make sure everything is in order. i will deifnitely make sure. but thank you!

I bought my 2008 GT500 on EBay they have a pretty good policy for protecting you the buyer. Got mine with 20k in upgrades for 42k with 3k miles on it. Just keep in mind if you buy from private owner you will have to pay taxes on it when you go to register it unless ofcourse you become like family and he decides to give you the car as a gift and you decide to lend him some money that he needs....

Re: GT500 question...

the prices on the 07-08s are starting to drop a little bit. I feel they will be at their best when the Boss 302 and 2012 GT500s start rolling out as a few buyers are always willing to sell their current GT500 for a good deal to upgrade fast. Time it around then and you may save a bit. Seems the prices currently are 30k give or take depending on mods and condition for an 07.

Re: GT500 question...

I would post on Team Shelby as well and troll their classifieds. I see people occasionally selling theirs. I know someone that has a 07 white GT500 with the 40th anniversary package on the car. The car has never been licensed and only has like 17 miles on it. Let me know if you are interested and I will connect you.

Re: GT500 question...

Always showing up on craigs list. Search the tri-state area. Even dealers will post there.

Re: GT500 question...

or cars.com if you just keep looking on there you will start to see what people are pricing their gt500s at so you can see what deals are good and what ones arent that great. I searched for my mustang for over a yr and finally found the perfect one and I could not be happier and I got it for a great deal. The average price on my yr is still a good amount higher than what I paid for mine.

If you see a deal that seems to good to be true then in some cases it may be, but you should always either call or go check it out and they should give you the car-fax for free. Some really good deals could be just because the car was repossessed, or the previous owner just sold it to get the money to pay off their loan.

Good luck!

Re: GT500 question...

Try Autotrader. Found my P-51 there, flew out to Charlotte from Houston to pick it up.
