I prefer the sound of magna flow, in my opinion has a little deeper tone, take a look at the 40 series with a off road x- pipe

Re: Exhaust

If you have stock exhaust on a 2010 V6, and you add a BBK Cold Air Intake, a Performance chip, a new throttle body, and add a custom tune, can your stock exhaust handle the increased pressure? sorry if this is a lame question, better safe than sorry.

Ya it can handle it but it's better if you have an aftermarket exhaust to allow more flow

Ya there's a lot of axle back exhausts out there. It's hard to tell you which one to get it's more personal preference and idk what sounds the best on v6's. But go on YouTube and you can hear a bunch of different exhaust systems and find which one you like the most.

Re: Exhaust

There are 2 different topics in this one thread....how are we supposed to answer questions if yall keep going back and forth about a 2009 gt then flipping the topic to a v6 exhaust?

Anyhow,to the OP.....I agree with your magnaflow comment. They are way to quiet for my taste.I had Mac boomtubes on my 05 & 07 GTs and they nice and loud. On the 07 I did a full exhaust with the boomtubes and it sounded nasty mean.....all the time.

Re: Exhaust

No problem it can just get confusing when there are off topic things going on in a thread. The Boomtubes are a axel back exhaust made by Mac. I've had them on my 05 and 07. They are loud, throaty and run about $400 if I remember correctly.

Re: Exhaust

Do you want to make NOISE or POWER ? With mufflers costing so much i would buy headers and X-pipe first , My 09 sounded way dif after headers. ran much better, inside sound way dif, and outside louder but not to loud. i dont want to spend $700. on muffs and end up getting stop by the cops

I want noise but not too loud. Probably more power than noise. But I want a catted x pipe system before headers and I also have to have the car inspected soon so headers wouldn't work

Re: Exhaust

They make catted x-pipe for long tube headers (BBK) and they will pass inspection. It is my thing to make power first and work from front to back. I changed mufflers last and got them on craigs list dirt cheep. my friend bought SLP and they were great untill he did headers and the sound inside the car was so bad you could not drive with the windows up, he then installed Ford SVT mufflers. he lost $300.00 on the SLP's when he sold them.

Ya hmm I'm not sure I don't really have money for headers right now that's why I wanted a catted x pipe that will pass inspection
