Question

Magnaflow catted x pipe Or Bassani catted x pipe? Which one is better? What will sound the best with flowmasters?

Re: Question

both are kinda close so ive been told sound wise. I would look at what they are made off to see if one is stainless vs aluminized etc

The magnaflow is stainless and the bassani is stainless too but for like 120 dollars more. Theres a bassani catted x pipe that's aluminized for about the same price as the magnaflow but I kinda want stainless steel. So maybe I'll go with the magnaflow system for 450 if there about the same but I've heard that bassani is a little louder. Not sure what to do.

Re: Question

louder is not always better, magnaflow makes a good product, get on youtube and see if you can listen to a couple different setups.

Go o/r and save some money. 400+ for a midpipe is ridiculous. But honestly, id go with the cheaper one. Magnaflow makes good products and I can't see them sounding much different if at all.

I was just messing with ya. But id go for the cheaper one. No point in wasting extra money for something that sits under the car

Re: Question

while its easier and cheaper to go no cats... its just a hassle and also the CEL will come on if you dont have it turned off since you wont have cats on an off road.

Ya I kinda want to go magnaflow. But is there a big difference in sound with the o/r pipe vs the catted? And if I went o/r how would I make it work for smog without it being such a hassle?

Ya but can't the CEL be turned off with a tuner? And i don't think there's that big if a difference in performance with the o/r vs. the catted.

Re: Question

if you have to have the car inspected you wont be able to go off road i think some say high flow cats still produce to much and wont pass but i am not sure on that.

Re: Question

yea if I ever had to replace my H pipe I will probably go with similar and keep some sort of cat. I already have my rear o2 sensors turned off so the check engine light wont come on regardless.

I have magnaflows on my gt and it sounds just wonder not loud but has that old muscle car rumble that you can hear around the block if you get on it. It has the purr when you want to cruise the strip. I would never put another exhaust on my stang after I have had the magnaflow on her bottom side. It looks great stainless steel and chrome. Holds up well and has a lifetime warranty on it. For anything. I am pleased and you will to. I went with high flow cats with the x pipe. 3 inch pipe looks great from the headers and all the way to the tail.

Re: Question

+I would get the Magnaflow stainless catted X there is not going to be much difference in sound between manufacturers , and catless would just be a pain in the neck for emissions testing.

Re: Question

you can have a pipe thats to big, I know on 94-04 the biggest you wanted was 2.25 (but it had duals all the way back else 2.5 would be fine for a single pipe)

Re: Question

back pressure is important. If you dont have enough there is no pressure and the exhaust gas can get out to fast. When this takes place it will hurt your low end performance. This is why 2.25 inch round pipe (for dual exhaust setups on v6 mustangs) is right where you want to be.

If you will only have one single pipe from the H pipe back it can be bigger than 2.25.
