STS Turbo

I have a rear mount sts turbo on my 08 V6 runnin 7 psi anyone know how I can get more boost out of it? There could be a couple tiny leaks which I plan on fixing this weekend. Also thinking about a boost controller

Re: STS Turbo

make sure as you said you are not losing pressure, then you can work on a new blow off valve/controller to up the boost. I wouldn't push it much more though~ maybe 10psi with 91+ octane (maybe race gas or torco addative).

Yea I'm over 350 hp now which is great for a V6 but I always want more.... Another thought would be the water/methanol injection kit for another 50-100 hp but might hold off on that for a while

Re: STS Turbo

Dont know what size turbo you're running but assuming its large enough to maintain 10 psi through all that piping and intercooler, you could just change out the wastegate spring as a cheaper option to buying a boost controller. Or doesnt the sts kit come with an adjustable wastegate anyway? If so, then more boost is simply a screw turn away.Just make sure you tune for the added boost.

Re: STS Turbo

well according to sts's website, the turbo that came with your kit is suppossed to be good to 380hp and they're claiming around 320@9psi so I'm pretty sure it's capable of holding a steady 10psi.

Yea I'm well over 320 at 7 psi although I have tons of other mods and not just the turbo

Re: STS Turbo

the number 1 most important by far key to this equation is the tune, if the tune is bad or cheap or not done professionally by a dyno shop that knows what they are doing you should get that done asap, many times boost doesnt kill motors, the tune does lol.

also your fuel pumps, injectors, maf all need to be checked to see how close to their limit they are, I know with my MAF my ad counts are close when its cold (much closer to limits when its cold out side FYI) so thats currently my issue~ I cant boost any more without at least that and maybe a boost a pump for my fuel pump.
