HOW BIG CAN YOU GO!!

Hey guys! How big of a tire are you running in the rear? Also can I run a 305 on a 9.5inch wheel? Would it fit without spacers? I'm running 285 now! I need to change the Goodyear supercar tires!!! They are the worst tires I've had!!! What kind are you guys running

Re: HOW BIG CAN YOU GO!!

Don't know the biggest size a s197 will take but as far as tires I've had good luck with my bfg kwd-2. Hooked 400hp from a roll on the street. Will hook 500 feathering first and hooking 2nd.

225/75/15 mud/snow tire in the rear. only time it rubs is when I hit a real hard bump or drive down an uneven drive way with ruts.

I don't think you will have any problems at all running a 305 on there.

Re: HOW BIG CAN YOU GO!!

most dont run wider than an 11 inch rear wheel, this will fit with the correct offset etc, I cant remember exactly what a live axle car needs off the top of my head vs an IRS (I know IRS not live axle )

Most buy 10.5's though as they are whats made in replica rims from ford.

You may have a quad shock that you can remove or flip upside down to clear more tire.

You can run up to a 315 without a spacer on these cars as long as you have the correct back spacing on a 10.5 in wheel.

And what would that correct backspacing be?

Not real sure on these cars. I just started messing with this body style. I have 17x10 on mine but I'm only going with a 305. My cousin has 17x10.5 bullitts on his with 315 nittos.

Nittos are smaller than other brands.. I have a set of f1s n nittos and the f1s are wider

I have Steeda 20" Spider rims with Nito 315 in the back and Nito 275 in the front. My car has Eboich springs and Tokico D Speck adjustable shocks and no rubbing what so ever. Believe you me, there can be no bigger tire used.
