Decisions decisions.. used 08-10 GT or order '12 GT

Ok so I am a noob, and currently in the market for a GT Premium MT. Here is my dilemma, I can either pick up a low milage 08-10 GT or possibly order a '12 GT with the exact options/colors I want. To me it seems like a no brainer, if the finances are there, get the '12 for the 5.0 and better milage along with the full factory warranty. However, IF I find a suitable used low milage for the right price, I can get a much lower payment, and still have cash for some immediate upgrades. What would you do?? Order a '12 GT Prem 6MT with Brembo and HID pkgs, and be content for a while, or pick up an 08-10 and throw CAI/Tune, 19" wheels/tires, and upgrade the Shaker speakers, and possibly a Borla Stinger cat back? Now here is the best part, the wife prefers the '12 after we stopped at a local dealer and saw a '11 in the same color combo (black/brick red) with Brembos. Let me know what you would do.

If the finances were there I would go for a 2012 GT

If finances are good go for the 5.0 2012. If you wanted to upgrade items and modify it go with the 2008-10 and do what you want with it.

If you want the "did it my self feel" buy the 08-10 and use the money you saved to buy mods. For about 3gs (give or take) you can be at 400 NA. And you get a warm fuzzy feeling from it. Not to bash the 5.0 though. It all depends on what you want out of the car.

If you've got the money, go for the '12. Didn't they also start making the variable cams in 2011? I thought that was pretty cool when I heard about it, and you can always mod your '12 in the future - the higher hp you start with, the higher you can go

If you buy the 12 you will have to have an authorized dealer complete the mods for you as doing them yourself will likely void the warranty. If you plan on doing a bunch of mods then your best bet is the 08. Just be realistic in what you plan to accomplish. You should be able to answer your own question.

Like everyone said if you have the money go for the new 2012.

I don't think I can afford one of those bad boys so I have been tossing around the idea of an '05-'09 GT.

Good luck finding what you want!

Lalayla, I hope I can afford the 2012. Right now I am leaning towards the 08-09 as I have found several with around 15K miles for about $20K.

We have a huge product launch at work starting this week, and with it we have unlimited overtime available LOL. Soo I will be working from 7AM-10PM (maybe longer)from the 3rd to the 20th of Feb, and keeping my fingers crossed that it goes on for a few weeks after that. Nothing like a few $K extra to help make the decision easy!
