Exhaust Question

Hello all, I have a question on exhaust, I have Kooks Long tube with x-pipe and high flow cats with Roush extreme catback. My car is way too loud and am looking to quiet it down, it’s so loud my wife doesn't like to ride in it and I think it is effecting my hearing a little. What is a good catback system that doesn't drone and is much quieter, the quieter the better.

I have kooks LT's and kooks H-pipe with cats and Ford Racing axle back exhaust. It's extremely loud. I can't tell you what to get but I can tell you what not to get if your looking to quite things down.

Re: Exhaust Question

It is amazing how load these cars can get, if I had known how loud it would have been I wouldn't have done the full exhaust. And the resonation is beyond tolerable to the point of being deafening. I'm to the point of concidering going back to stock but would really like to keep the long tubes through the cats.

I like my loud exhaust but mine is not a daily driver. The only complaint I have is not hardly being able to hear my supercharger when I get on it. Oh and every idiot who thinks they just drove their civic off the set of fast and furious trying to race me.

Re: Exhaust Question

I have the same problem with everyone wanting to race, rice burners and the Camaros and GTO's. Mine is my daily driver, I have had it this loud for the last year and it's starting to wear on me. It's hard enough to hear when you get older like me without damaging it more.

Re: Exhaust Question

Well right now I don't have mufflers, its straight exhaust after the cat's with the Roush Extremes, which weren't to bad before adding the Kooks LT and Catted x-pipe. I was thinking about Corsa touring exhaust but they are very expensive and if they don't work would be a waste of money.

Re: Exhaust Question

Do they give you that annoying loud resonating drowning noise at certain RPM's, if not maybe they would work. The price is definitely better than that Corsa which is around the 750 range.

I am hopping that I can quiet it down enough that all I am replacing is the catback Roush extreme exhaust portion.
