Tire light

I put air in my tires but the tire pressure sensor light is still on. Not sure how I can get it to go away any suggestions?

Re: Tire light

Check the psi on all your tires to make sure you've filled them up enough.

Unplug the battery for 15 minutes. Should shut it off unless there is still a problem

Hit the reset button that's by the hazards button above the radio

Re: Tire light

When I got my stang one of the things that the dealer told me was about the tire pressure light. He said that if it stays on, even after they have been filled with air, then I would have to bring it to them so that they could reset it.

Re: Tire light

I just put the recommended amount that is posted on the tire. Unfortunately though, my light is on now for the past 3 days and of course every gas stations tip to the air pump is damaged from the people that can't put it back the right way, so it gets ran over by the cars!

No mine always goes off after I fill the tire and drive maybe 20 feet

Re: Tire light

you can get a little tool to reconnect them to the car~ might be that (or get the dealer to do it)

Re: Tire light

Don't know if ford does this but on my cousins toyota tacoma he had this problem and it turned out that the spare tire had a sensor in it too.

I don't think they do. I thought they did away with the spare on 10 models; maybe I'm thinking a different car.

Also make sure you check your air the morning. I found this article helpful at TireRack Tire Tech Information - Air Pressure, Temperature Fluctuations

Re: Tire light

Would you believe that my light wouldn't turn off after reading this post! I usually just fill the bad tire and it goes off...not this time! So I checked all the tires and I'll be damned that the two fronts were low as well. So I filled them too, and the light still wouldn't go off!! So I called the dealership and they said that the computer probably needs to be retrained again. But first try driving it around now that all tires are filled and give the computer time to retrain/reset itself. I didn't, I let it sit over night and this morning it was off. But if yours is acting up the way it is, then unless someone here on the forum knows how to retrain the air sensor like the window, then you might have to take it to the dealer. Let us know what the outcome is!
