Highly recommend MGW. I have had just about every kind of shifter over the years and used to like the 5.0 shifter but now MGW makes the best one out there hands down in my opinion. You can adjust how short or not short at all. Can't think of any other that is this user adjustable.

Re: Shifter?

I like my Steeda Ti-Ax that I put in the Cobra. I got the one with the comfort grip handle, feels really nice.

Re: Shifter?

Hurst, MGW, Steeda, and the like all have good reviews, but for 05+ I think for overall daily driving fun and reach the MGW is the best.

MGW is at least the best build and heck even comes with sound deadening when you install it you can only get them from MGW's web site directly www.mgwltd.com

Ditto. And you can adjust the handle length so its a regular throw. Well close anyway

Re: Shifter?

as you shorten the throw you will make it more notchy and harder to shift to a degree~ thats just how it works

I have had a hurst short throw shifter in my 06 since a month after I bought it and I wouldn't trade it for anything! The feel is great very short and firm engagement. Plus the chrome stick with classic hurst white ball looks sick! Muscle mustangs and fast fords had a short throw shifter shootout probably 2 years ago and hurst came out on top in the shootout. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have a Hurst in my 07 GT and I love it. Great feel all around. In my humble opinion Hurst is a great choice

Re: Shifter?

I like the my Hurst in the 05 but like my Roush shifter better, not sure who makes it. Had a Tri-ax in another 05 and it was better than stock, but wasn't as tight. But some people feel tight is too notchy...

Hurst shifter shafts are fully interchangeable, you can make the shifter almost any length or angle you... Hurst makes bunches of shafts...

You know what guys, I have a completely different transmission than you guys. It may do very well on the 5 speeds. The spring does not line up with 3rd on the t56 and I'm not satisfied with mine.
