Re: Catted vs Non catted

You should be good. If you run tailpipes, you shouldn't have any issues with smelling it in the car. Cops probably don't go around sniffing tailpipes, I know they don't here, lol.

If you do get pulled over, turn the car off.

Re: Catted vs Non catted

The Cops will notice it! For anyone behind you it will smell bad. With the numbers that gmantheman gave you why would throw away $500.00 on an after market H-pipe. You are aready complaining about the price of mufflers in your other post!

The off road pipe will give ya a better gain. Save the stocker tho if it's illegal.

Re: Catted vs Non catted

Kenne Bell and ST motorsports tested catted vs noncatted (O/R) on mustang with a k/b s/c. The O/R gained zero hp and zero tq.

My isn't even supercharged. But I've having people tell me to go no cats and then others tell me to stay with cats.

K. Honestly do you see any stock cars or dragsters with cats. No. Why because they are restrictive. It's that simple. If you want to stay legal keep the cats. If you want to get max power ditch em. Personally I would keep em. It's just not worth the hassle getting caught with an illegal exhaust, not to me anyway. And you might gain 10 hp in the upper revs without them which would be hard to even notice. Ultimately it's your call

Depends on where you live, too. I live in Florida and haven't had cats on either of my Mustangs totaling at least 5 years and still nothing. *knock on wood

Alrite. I'm in Cali so ya no cats is illegal but I honestly don't think a cop is gunna look under my car to see if anything is illegal. But I don't think I want the hassle so I'll probably just stay with cats.
