Chips and tuners

I have a 2005 mustang GT with a ram air intake, flow-master exhaust, shorty headders, but I do not have a tuner! What is the best tune to get? I'm leaning towards the bama tunes sold at American muscle. I'm not really sure were to go?

Oh and can somebody tell me how to change my profile pic?

Bama tunes from American muscle is the way to go! Free tunes for life! They program some great stuff! Really wakes your car up! I highly recommend them! Go for the 93 race tune though... 87 performance isn't much...

Re: Chips and tuners

Use an SCT Tuner and either get a local reputable tuner to dyno tune the car or contact someone like American Muscle and order a Handheld tuner with their mail order Tunes.

The 87 octane tune will get you better mileage and you cannot change tunes while driving with the tuner.

Re: Chips and tuners

Like everett said, you can't change while driving, but it only takes a minute or two to swap tunes when you are parked somewhere. I carry my tuner with me everywhere in case I get a bad tank of gas or get a check engine light.

Ditto. It takes less time to change the tune than it does to fill up.

Check engine light? What's it do for that?

Re: Chips and tuners

I got my SCT X-Cal 2 and 3 tunes from Justin at VMP Tuning. He's one of the best tuners in the country.

Can't go wrong with bama tunes. I'm real pleased with the tunes I got for my ride. AM has been great to deal with as well.

As for the pic - look for the control panel link towards the top on the left. From there you can change about everything.

Yup. Cause it's forever. You can keep getting new tunes based on your feedback to bama thereby getting exactly what you want, and the best part is you only pay once.

Once I tune my car with a sct tuner would it be wise to go somewhere to get my car dynoed to make sure everything is working properly?

Absolutely. That is really a must. While some shops have tuned tons of cars and the tune you get won't be on the razors edge, every car is different. It's a nice peace of mind to put it on the dyno just to make sure the air fuel is good.
