Re: squeak

try to isolate it, see if resting your hand on given items stops it, make sit better etc, it might be your E Brake handle, try holding that (but you said dash so could be vents)

Try jamming something where you think it is rubbing...like some cardboard or something. If it doesn't stop the rattle, then you can move it someplace else...once you identify it, build the area up or down until it squeaks no more...I know it's a cheap fix but it worked on an old blazer I used to have...

Re: squeak

My wifes H2 had somethig like that and it use to drive me nuts but it only did it after 40 mph. It took me like a week to find it and it turned out to be a loose heater vent duct in the dash area.
I know what you would be saying if it drives you nuts cause mine did for sure also.

They make a thin felt backed tape. Possibly an interior or body shop may carry some. You shouldn't need more that a foot or two of it. You're gonna have to find out exactly where it's coming from. Take a couple trim panels off and put a piece where the trim contacts each other where it shouldn't show. We did a lot of stuff like that when I was at gm. Easy fix.

Re: squeak

The 05 dash squeaks when it's cold but stops when it warms up... When it was new, I took it back to Ford and they "fixed" it... Now it's the wife's car and it is her problem... lol
