Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

Hey, anyone out there have any experience with Trufiber / Trucarbon and their hoods? I have fallen in love with the GTS-4 hood and now have the bank to buy and have the hood finished. But... I have read several places..... including Trufiber's own website that they will only warranty the hoods fitment and not the hoods quality. This screams "red flags" to me..... but I don't know of anyone else that is making this hood. I was looking at Cervini's type IV hood but I just like it anywhere as much as I do the GTS-4. Thanks in advance for the help and advice!

Re: Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

Sure.... everything should be finished some time next week except for getting the hood stripped. Hopefully I will get some pics posted by the end of next
week.

Re: Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

No. The GTS-4 hood does not have holes for windshield washer nozzles. You will have to have holes drilled or do like I am doing and purchase the nozzle relocation kit from american muscle. The nozzle relocation kit moves your washer nozzles to your windshield wiper arms. I will post pics of everything next week when I get my car back from the body shop

Re: Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

Hood came in today but my body shop can't fit me in until next week. The hood looks top notch and has minimal waves in it..... my shop guy said that this is one of the best looking fiberglass hoods he has seen. I drop my car off with him on Monday 5-16-11 and will have it back in a couple of days. I will update with pics as soon as I pick her up next week! I am soooo excited!

Re: Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

talked to my body shop guy and I should be getting my car back Friday 5-20-11. My guy said that this Trufiber hood "was one of the best... if not THE best fiberglass hood he has ever worked with." He said that the fit was perfect and just as good as the stock hood and that the prep work was very minimal. I will have some pics up either this weekend or next week.

Re: Trufiber / Trucarbon hoods

Ok... here i am back with my car, a report, and pics. My Body guy said that the hood is top quality and possibly the best he has ever worked with. The fit was perfect and the prep work was very minimal. The only complaint that he or I have is the trufiber hood pin kit. He installed the hood pin kit following the instructions but the fit of the hood pin base mounts is not perfect. Installed as directed the base mounts for the hood pins is alittle too far back and low..... causing the hood pins to screw down at a little bit of an angle and not sit flush. It also pulls the corners of the hood a little too much thus resulting in the corners of the hood sitting lower that the edge or my front quarter panels. My guy said for me not to worry and they he could fabricate something to relocate the hood pin base mounts into the ideal place. But other than that I am very pleased.
