Exhaust suggestions?

Hey I just purchased a 07' mustang gt and I'm looking for exhaust to put on it. I want something that has an aggressive sound but also puts out power. Any ideas?

Yea I eventually want to do o/r x-pipe, and probably catback, I've been looking online at videos of people with different kinds. I was thinking of flowmasters

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

Axelbacks will get you close to nothing in gains. Its hard to to tell sound quality from the YouTube vids so I would suggest going to some local meets for a sound check.

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

The only way your going to see any power gains from an exhaust install is to do long tube headers with a tune.

Yea I eventually want to do an o/r x-pipe and sooner or later down the road do some long tubes, but for now I have to take small steps (because of money) but I've looked into catback systems such as MAC and flowmasters. I want to find some people that are in my area that have exhaust on theirs just to get an idea of what I'm looking for

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

Probably the best bang for your buck is the Flowtech axle-back from Holley. They sound mean, and the fitment is good. Best of all, they are the most affordable out there. That would let you spend more cash on more important mods-

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

I have the Pypes Pype-Bomb axle backs and they sound amazing! Good low rumble and get crazy loud at WOT but don't have the rattleing / popping noise I have heard in other exhaust systems. They are very resonable priced at $280.00 at American Muscle. I only have the axle back system and have not yet replaced anything else on my exhaust system so actual performace gains are very little to none by themself.... but they sound awsome!'

Hey I went online and checked out the Pypes pype-bomb they sound pretty awesome, I also heard someone with the Pypes mid-muffler catback, they may cost a little more but they sound mean! And give a little boost in power. I don't I'm pretty torn between which to go with I'm going to have my exhaust put on this Friday.

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

If you plan on going with an o/r x then I think pype bombs would be way too loud. I just bought SSS terminators SSS 05-09 Mustang Terminator Exhaust Muffler System with my catted x it's loud enough. When I was driving to work, my co-worker who was outsided said she could her my car coming from a mile away.

Re: Exhaust suggestions?

borla stinger or ford racing axle back is not a bad choice but its went up in price~ sound is not super loud but good, you wont make much power from it.
