stock. or cobra upgrade. its all opinion based. drilled and slotted are not neccessary most of the time but they look nice. just dont put cheap autozone crap on your car and you will be fine

Re: brakes on 06 mustang gt conv

I have the Ford Racing Cobra upgrade brakes, but I am curious why you recommended it? He asked about rotors and pads. The Cobra upgrade involves 14" rotors and four piston Brembo calipers for the front and pads for all four wheels and there are only a hand full of wheels that will clear the calipers...

The Cobra brakes are good, but unless you already own a set of Roush or Shelby wheels, or are planning on changing to different wheels, up-grading to Cobra brakes can become awful expensive. I heard the new "fan blade " Mustang wheels will work too..

oh. didnt realize that. i new the rotors and calipers were bigger but i thought they still would fit. i recommended them because of the better stopping power. but if he has to change the rims i say go stock. maybe some wagner thermoquiets.

Re: brakes on 06 mustang gt conv

A lot of people think that any 18" wheel (or bigger) will clear the Brembo's but most won't with out spacers... I did a lot of research on these brakes before I bought them and was lucky to find out my Roush 18" cast chrome wheels would clear...
