If you only going for color then 10K is cool but once you go past 5K the brightness of the pattern actually gets worse. I like 6K cuz they are still very bright and has a slight tint of blue. Only buy high quality sets and stay away from cheap eBay kits you'll only be wasting your money. I can get you a HIGH quality kit with a lifetime warranty for $200. Not a sales pitch per say, just helping out a fellow Mustang friend.

Re: 10000K HID?

I would not go passed 6K if you want to see at night. After 6k you lose a lot of usable light

Re: 10000K HID?

Here, take a look at this and it will fill you in on HIDs. You will also see that the higher K rating you go the "less" light out put it has. "Please Note: The higher the temperature, the weaker the lighting comparison becomes." "When you have selected your bulb type, select which kelvin rating you need. 6000k is the most popular color. It gives the light a white color and is the best penetrating light for night driving. 4300k will give you the same color as your normal driving lights, 3600k is popular for Fog Lights (ADR regulations state that you need a white light for a driving light)."

I find it hilarious when someone is riding around with xenons above 10k they thought they were buying the brightest one and when they turn them on there purple or pink hahahha. I personally prefer the 6 or 8k. They put out the most lumens and I like the color.

This might help. Oh, and when you go higher than 6000k, even though it's still bright, you lose all depth perception because of the light shade. I'd personally go with 5000k or 6000k.
