Oil pressure question

Well I cranked my car and was pulling out of the driveway and accidentally stalled out I was still rolling back so I just popped the clutch and started it back up and got a low oil pressure signal for just a split second and then it went away I then looked @ my gauge and saw it was just over half so I raised the rpms to 3k and the gauge did not budge. I checked the oil it was fine. I didn't here the oil pump making any noises. I think the oil pressure gauge is bad but could be wrong. What do y'all think.

Re: Oil pressure question

your car doesnt have a real oil pressure gauge. its a fake one. the only way to know what the real oil pressure is is to take that oil pressure switch out and install a oil pressure sending unit. the gauge is set to show just over half as long as there is more than around 8psi oil pressure. its stupid that ford does this but thats what they do...

And your right it is Stupid as he** for ford to put a pressure switch in instead of a Gauge they wasted there time even putting an oil pressure gauge on the gauge cluster.

Re: Oil pressure question

I can't understand why they did this; I noticed years ago in my 99GT that the gauge never moved....
