cheap lights?

Has anyone bought those universal HID light kits. They are pretty cheap, but I'm afraid that you get what you pay for.

They work but you will not have a high beam. Only down side.

Re: cheap lights?

if you order the 12 dollar connector thing its 100% plug in and go.

The ONLY issue I had was getting the damn OEM bulb out (nothing to do with the kit just the area I was working in).

The wiring harness is all covered good and its easy to route. You have to run a power line from the harness to the battery or a power source and then ground it as well.

Thats most of it other than finding a location to mount the little ballasts (get slim ballasts much easier to mount/hide)

If you didnt look over at the headlights area you would not see anything really.

Re: cheap lights?

DDM Tuning lights are great. I've had a set for two years now. Cost me $110 with shipping. They are definitely worth it and install was simply. I just used self tappers to mount the ballist and the wiring is just plug and play.

Get the dual beams for crying out loyd. I think the cost is a whopping $12 extra. Dual beams = brights that are necessary when driving down dark roads.

NP I paid someone to install mine & the guy doing the install told me there was a relay harness missing. Be very careful if you're treating this like a DIY project. Your lights will also come directly from China. You can track the shipment through USPS.com

Yup. I think the total cost for dual beam 5000k on driving lights + 6000k w/no dual beam on the fogs + shipping was like $116 or something like that.

And you have had no problems with it? It's a hell of a good price.

Trust me. My first priorities are a borla stinger catback and a Cai. I'm just saving 1200 dollars so I can get a bundle of goodies for her! :big smile:

Bulb Type: H13/9008 Hi/Lo (+$20) is what you want for High & Low Beams.

If u get fog and headlight HID's, DON'T use both at the same time while driving around town at night. You will blind everyone. =)

I didn't order either as I recall but the guy who did my install said a relay was missing. Now what the heck that is I'll never know. Point is the place who installed the kit put the parts in that were missing but the install was almost twice as much as the hid kit when everything was said & done.

Oh I didn't know you didn't install them. According to the instructions on the website they are plug and play. Sounds like they forgot to send you something. It also sounds like you got screwed over on the install. IMO.

I'm not 100% positive but I think that you need the HID harness. I'm sure DDM can tell you. I don't know the technical said of the relay but basically if you don't have the relay your car will keep switching fro
High to low beam by itself

Re: cheap lights?

FYI

Go here to check what the replacement bulb size is for future reference: OSRAM SYLVANIA - Replacement Guide - Start

Fog Light is 9145

On the Bulb Type you're going to select H10/9145/9140. I bought this model & it fit fine.
