What kind of exhaust?

I'm looking to get an exhaust system for my 2008 GT and I'm not sure which kind to get. My dad has a 2008 GT500KR. I'm pretty sure it has borlas on it, not sure what kind, but I want my car to have that old style grumble like my fathers car has. Any suggestions?

Re: What kind of exhaust?

I don't have this system myself, but I heard one at a car show- It really has that old, 5.0 growl that the Fox-body guys have enjoyed for years.

Its the Pypes mid muffler setup that moves the mufflers up under the car. I don't know the science behind the concept, but it works.

The description of the extreme performance kit sounds like what I'm looking for. Thanks for the replies. I really want to get my car faster so I'm thinking about getting 3.73s before I make my GT sound better. But this should help me in finding exhaust.

Re: What kind of exhaust?

I went with the MagnaFlow Exhaust with the OffRoad X pipe, the soaund is excellant and the power is noticable. No complaints at all.

Hmmm, isnt that kinda noisy? And what kind of X-pipe did you use? I got hold off a X-pipe from à GT500... Honestly, I have no idea what so ever what to prefer...

I went with the borla stingers at first. The sound was great, but wasn't quite what I wanted. So 2 hours after putting them on I ordered the pypes o/r h pipe to go along with it.

It was like a match made in heaven! I love the sound and the deep rumble when in low rpms. Haven't had any problems with them either.

Not sure if you were referring to me or someone else, but my X-pipe is Magnaflow also.

What can you say about your headers? Did it effect torque? Info info info please! I hav'nt changed my yet but I really consider to do so. I do have highflow catalysts, GT 500 X-pipe and finally, Ford Racing exhaust! (incredible sound...) I felt a slight difference afterwords... But headers... What do you think?

You can't go wrong with headers the power difference is definitely felt and the sound is amazing depending on which axle backs you get as well but in all there worth it I had mine done about a month ago.

Any x-pipe or catback mods you've done won't make much of a hp difference if you still have the restrictive factory headers installed. A good set of headers and a tune will free up your exhaust and help out that low end tq

I have these... Artnr: M-5230-5GT
I knew I wanted high flowcats and a better sound so I began from the rear, it might seem kinda stupid but I jut didn't know which headers to use. I've heard that it should be best to use longtube headers instead of short ones. So I thought it could be wise to ask people like you... Sweden have many many wiseasses!
What do you suggest? I have a SCT flash...
