I believe 450rwhp is about the limit of the stock block and the displacement is 281

Much past 450 rwhp and your playing with fire on the stock bottom end.

How often do you see 10psi for an extended period though?

Re: 2008 mustang gt stock block limit

There have been many running over 450whp with no problems whatsoever. It's gonna depend on how you use the car. It's all a gamble past 450, a gamble that I wouldn't take. Just my opinion though.

I'm making 465hp / 450tq @ wheels (approx 540crank HP figuringg about 18% drive line loss) for 2+years now, no problems and I do autcross with it (running 9psi)

Not that often, it's a weekend driver. The tune is the most important thing. Not saying something won't happen but find a reputable shop and have it dyno tuned.

450-500~ at the rear wheels, i would aim for 450, the tune is the most important part as you can blow it up at 300hp at the flywheel if you dont have the tune right

you will always hear of someone that has more than 450 thats "doing fine" it always is fine until BAM its not any more.... plus its how you drive the car, if you only drive it now and again and dont beat on it... you never see that 500rwhp anyway~

Spector is correct, "The TUNE is the most important part" My car puts out 498RWHP without any issues but my tune and the way I drive my car are the main reasons why I don't see any issues

I wouldnt be able to keep 498 together for long. I tend to do one wot pull through a couple gears daily and bounce the limiter every so often lol. That all = big no no

If I give the 4.6 boost to tie me over I'd try to play it safe around the 440ish range. I've pretty much decided on not forging it, but instead building a 5.4 for a swap Possibly twins....we shall see how money works out in the coming months.
