I'm lookin into getting 3.73 gears..what brand do most recommend what makes them better? How much do you think is a normal install price? And will I be noticeably quicker of the line? Thanks for the help!

You will be quicker (not as quick as 4.10s but better in speed too) and the gears and install will be around $500ish I believe. But idk about brands sorry

That's kinda what I was thinking in price but I just didn't know the differences in brands or if they were close enough to each other it didn't matter...

Re: Gears

Is this a DD? Or a weekend joy ride? or go to the track? If all 3 go 3.55 it will be the perfect balance. If just a joy ride car I wouldn't worry about doing much. If your going to the track and no DD use go to 4.10.

Re: Gears

Ford Racing is soo much better imho.
$600-700 depending upon where you get them installed, My shop told me 9 hours! But i only paid $400 because i send them a lot of business... But be ready to listen to the whine of the new gears, they almost never are quiet on most cars ive seen with upgraded rears.
Also, the 3.73s really arent noticeable if you have 3.55s... but if your stock 3.23s, then you will notice a slight change. I was expecting a drastic improvement, but it really didnt do too much.
And about your launching... If your launching your car as fast as you can and spinning tires, then your not going to notice a change. Increase in tire speeds will cause you to break the rear end loose. If you have no traction problems all ready, then yes, you will notice a better launch.

Re: Gears

Yep go with Ford Racing Gears. In respect to "gear whine" if that happens then your gears were installed wrong. Know a couple of guys where I live that can install gears and make no whine what so ever.

Re: Gears

ford racing would be the best, they dont whine as much as other brands seem to, but... motive gears took over making some of ford racing's gears so... you probably wont find any easily.

installation as said above is a major key factor, if its not done right... you have to put another new set of gears in and try again.... if you have stiffer suspension it can make noise that was not there before become noticeable as well.
