I don't think it was a production car from ford. Could be just a rebadged mustang

Re: 2006 GT 350

Well I got around to thinking and .. since it came from ford's showroom like this (a dealer) it's probably a package they threw on it.

Re: 2006 GT 350

There was no such package as a GT350, Some after market stripe makers , made them.

Re: 2006 GT 350

yea its just something that ford dealer did to make it special, its not a real type of mustang, just a fake thing the dealer does... and something I dont care for... modifying from the dealer is great but putting GT350 on it... bad move by that dealeship.

Re: 2006 GT 350

okay awesome thanks for the help.

I DID end up buying this thing very recently as it was super clean and I dont mind the add ons, in fact they look quite nice. included are a K&N cold air intake and im pretty sure aftermarket exhaust.. but don`t quote me on that. next the body kit and obviously the stripes too.

I don`t think any of you would blame me for getting this.. it`s an 06 mustang and looking just as good if not better than most.

I can post pics later but its dirty right now.. still might.

research your intake and if a tune is required with it, dont want to be unsafe

Re: 2006 GT 350

There is such a thing as a GT350 it is a Shelby first introduced in 2006 as GT-H (only to Herts) or Shelby GT it was fist made for Herts Rental you could rent a Shelby GT or GTH it was later offered to dealers in 2007. So YES it is not just some dealer add on it is a true Shelby with Name plate and all. It does not have the 5.4L that the GT500 has and it does not have a Supercharger. But it does have some nice add-ons but you could build your own GT350 with Ford Racing catalog parts if all you want is the performance but you don't gets Shelby VIN or Signature.

2006–2007 Shelby GT-H and 2007–2008 Shelby GT
Mustang Shelby GT-H
Ford introduced the Shelby GT-H version of the Mustang at the 2006 New York Auto Show. Like the original GT350H from 1966, the GT-H featured gold-on-black paint and was only available at the Hertz car rental agency. A modest power bump over the regular Mustang GT V-8 engine. Features included a 5-speed automatic transmission, and a package from Ford Racing including a 90 mm cold air intake kit, X-pipe, special performance suspension, and Ford Racing "GTA" axle-back mufflers.

Only 500 cars were built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Shelby GT350H.[16] For 2007, a convertible version of the GT-H was offered for rental at Hertz.[17] This time the convertibles came with a custom light bar reminiscent of the 1968 Shelby Mustang convertibles.
The 4.6 liter, 281-cubic-inch, 319 hp (238 kW) Ford Shelby GT slots between the 300 hp (220 kW) Mustang GT and the Ford Shelby GT500. It is essentially a retail sale version of the Hertz rental-only Ford Shelby GT-H, except a manual transmission is available. The Shelby GT was offered based on strong demand from enthusiasts wanting Ford and Shelby to offer a retail version of the GT-H. Other differences include the deletion of the rear spoiler, a retro Shelby hood scoop in place of the CS6/8 Shelby hood, and silver versus the gold stripes, with the car available in either white or black in 2007 and Vista Blue, Grabber Orange or Black with red stripes for 2008. The Grabber Orange Shelby GT-C (California) was sold exclusively in California and only available as a coupe (less than 220 models were produced). Again, the popularity of the 2007 Shelby GT-H rental car, this time the convertible, Shelby offered the 2008 Shelby GT as a coupe or convertible in limited numbers. Based on requests from enthusiasts for a blue Shelby GT, Vista Blue became the signature color for the 2008 Shelby GT. The Vista Blue models were available as a coupe or convertible. A very limited number (100) Barrett Jackson Shelby GTs were built in 2008 that were black with red stripes, also available in coupe or convertible. The Barrett Jackson Shelby GTs were sold exclusively in Arizona. The Hertz Shelby GT-H attracted so much attention that Ford dealers and customers asked for a version of their own. Like the GT-H, the Shelby GT is modified at Shelby Automotive's factory in Las Vegas, which distinguishes the GT-H and Shelby GT models from the GT500 in that the GT500s are produced entirely by AutoAlliance International.

The GT-H was never called a GT-350, and never had 350 on it from the Factory. It was simply a Shelby GT with Hertz apperance. Yor should read the link that you posted LOL

Re: 2006 GT 350

hmm good point, I can not remember if it had GT350 or GT-H on the side, if it had GT350 thats great and I stand corrected.

this one just says GT-H

someone may have put it on themselves though~ or maybe a prototype had it etc

I think the article you linked just says its a throwback to the GT350 but isnt considered one like the original Hertz was~

Re: 2006 GT 350

I honestly dislike the dealership doing that and I hope they didn't try to haggle more money out of you just because of what it said on the side....people refer to mine as a GT350 which in a way it's similar considering it's the midway between base gt and gt500 for those years but it is a Shelby GT or GT-H....
