Re: CATS?

A little louder I think, but my wife tells me that it's the loudest car around, louder than the other Stangs around, but to me it's not that noticable inside. There is a difference, that much I can admit to.

Converters kill the sound big time I just got done installing a offroad X so i can tell you first hand...after riding with the stock catted h with my exhaust I can definitely tell you that having no cats is raw.. The drone is a little more but manageable if you learn to stay off of it and learn to drive it at certain RPM's... This is my daily driver so we will c how it goes

I just took my cats out Saturday. It sounds awesome except it trumpets around 2500 rpms if you are driving normal. Sounds amazing at wot though. I read on another forum that if you install resonators that it will take care of that. I plan to do just that next Saturday.

Right now my set up is stock h-pipe with the cats cut out and flowmaster 40 series. I have a pypes o/r x-pipe but the trumpeting was a 100 times worse. It sounded like someone was pounding on my exhaust with a screwdriver. After I get paid I'm gonna get resonators and hopefully it will get rid of the unwanted noise without taking too much volume. If it does I'll probably throw the x-pipe back on.

Yeah its pretty beastly. I know my neighbors know when I'm coming and going. It just has that little tin noise around 2500 rpms that I wanna lose. Nowhere near as bad as the x-pipe though. It will definately turn some heads when u start it.
