Question 06 GT Auto BEST supercharge

Im looking for a good kit, not too expensive, right now im looking at one that total would be 7500, looking to spend maybe a little less. Wondering What some of your suggestions would be.

Any other suggestions on anything that can be done(first time mustang owner) I wanna know!

Re: 06 GT Auto BEST supercharge

you need to determine if you want a centrifugal or positive displacement design (root/twin screw)

the positive displacement is going to give you more low end but not as much high end, for a street car this will feel better as the power comes on low in the rpms.

Cost is probably about the same, the noise they make is different

CutterWolf on here has an 06 GT and has a paxton on his, 10psi and his auto stang puts out 450-480rwhp so not bad (tune is rich as well). Cost was around 6k then a tune~ not sure if he had to do anything else.

Definitely pos displacement. Kenne Bell's (twin screw) seem to be the best design, but I've heard good things ab Edelbrock's E-force superchargers (TVS)

Why not go Turbo?

Turbo Kits for Ford Mustangs

Kit has plenty room to grow. And will make more power then a SC in the long run. Also only 2k. CAn be more if upgrade stuff. But the kit here can make 600whp+

or 05-10 Mustang GT Single Turbo System - 350 to 850 HP

for $5500.

ya but SC's are a lot easier to install than a turbo , your typical Kenne Bell can go on in a day ,with little to no hassle , Turbo's have a lot of plumbing ,usually you have to disassemble the front end ,finagle and adapt , yada, yada ... and if you have a shop do it they are going to charge a lot more for the install ......... I'd go SC

turbos make more hp/tq but just cost more and have more to them~ but they work great

if you go with a positive displacement blower like Kenne Bell, Whipple, Roush, Ford Racing etc make SURE its a twin screw and has the ability to give you the level of performance you want~

YA they are a little harder for install. But from what seen the Hellion kits and On 3 are pretty easy. Plus the advantages really out weigh the SC in the long run.

A lot of SC also require you to take of the front bumper for the intercooler so you will be taking it off no matter what.

Re: 06 GT Auto BEST supercharge

1) Find the closest installer / tuner shop that you like.

2) Install whichever package they are most familiar with, and best known for.

I say this all because the installation is only once. The rest of the time you own / drive / race the car, you will need to maintain and repair. Lots of people do go hundreds of miles for installs - but daily ownership is much easier if you have a local (relatively speaking) shop who can handle the car over your entire ownership period)

3) When in doubt, get Ford Racing Whipple. Some dealers even install them.
