Which hood?

I'm looking to get a new hood soon. I really like the Trufiber GTS-4 hood and also am considering the Trufiber SVT style reverse waterfall hood. Does anyone have either of these hoods? How is the quality and how was the fitment?

Also I'm open to anyone's opions of what they think would look good on my stang. Legend Lime Roush Stage 1

Thanks!

Re: Which hood?

seen it on a bunch of stallions in my area, i love the muscle look it gives! When it rains i remember someone saying something about having to scoop water out or such like that?

keep looking around if your not sure, there are plenty of gorgeous hoods for our S197s.

Why not cancel and order from American Muscle? they show it in stock. Which means they have in there warehouses. Plus AM selling it for $679 for regular hood. YOU can have vinyl over lay on it or painted to look like CArbon Fiber.

Re: Which hood?

Go with the Trufiber GTS-4 for sure! And order everything from American Muscle! Best pricing and fast free shipping! If you find if cheaper anywhere else they will match price! I have spent over $4000k with A.M. and I have never been dissatisfied. They ar the best for Mustang part hands down!

Looks like I'm going with American muscle. Does anyone know how much it should be for a good paint job on this hood?

I feel as though you get "more" out of the gts4 hood with both the ram air and the heat extraction

I have a trufiber venom hood on my car and I really like it, the induction of the venom is very similar to the gts-4. The fitment is perfect on the car, the only hang up I had is the shop wasn't used to seeing gelled fiberglass hoods so they were confused to the point on whether to primer it or not until they figured out the paint didn't stick. Overall the hood is light and it fits perfectly, if you look in my garage you can see what the hood looks like from the front and how the lines match up.

As for which one the two hoods have a different concept going for them. The svt is sleek fits the contour of the hood, blends into the body and you are right you will get better forced induction with the gts-4. The gts-4 looks to add a little bulk/muscle to the car a lot more of an aggressive look to the whole look of the car, I like the gts-4 better imo but then again that maybe because I am running the venom.

be aware though with any of these hoods you will have to get a windshield washer relocater kit that attaches to the window wipers because the hood does not come with fitted nozzles on it relocater kit costs about 60 bucks

paint job costed me 600 for black paint, I have heard people getting a paint job as low as 400.

Stampde do you really think the cervini hoods are that much better? They seem to be very expensive for the same thing?

I'm new here but have had many mustangs over the years. I like both hoods but the SVT seems to grab my attention more. Good luck
