Re: Headers...

clean it well , use factory exhaust gaskets or the Ford Racing header gaskets , after market header gaskets blow !!! after you run your car a couple times re-tighten the bolts

Had a friend that used the stock manifold gasket for 5.4 lt expedition. No sealer. He said the ones for a truck and suv are thicker and have a lead like graphite core that seats when it gets hot. But after playing golf with him a few times he's probably lying.

Re: Headers...

Get the Ford OEM gaskets, everything else will blow. I reused the OEM's for my long tubes and haven't had a problem yet................

Forgot, headers are a pain in the *** on the S197's. I had to pull the motor mounts and the starter to get them in there. I imagine even just replacing the gaskets you would have to do the same thing just to get in there even if you dont take the headers all the way out.
